I just recieved another bill from Alltel wireless in the amount of $264.25 for an account that I never had with them. I just got off the phone with one of thier representatives and was told by her that my contract was sold to Alltel wireless by midwest wireless and I was an automatic customer of thiers through this merge. (shouldn't I have something to say about this) apparently not according to the representative.

I told her that they had first broken any contract at all if there ever was one by automatically raising my wireless bill by $11.00 a month! She told me that they did that because they were a larger company and need to charge more! I told her that was not my d**n problem and as far as I was concerned that the contract that I never signed with them was null and void at that time. I was told by her that if I didn't pay this bill it would go to collection.

I said good! then we can battle it out in court. I will not be held hostage by a phone company or any other company for that matter. If we as citizens allow these companys to pass around our contracts and raise our prices at will and we have to be bound to these contracts, what is to stop them from starting new companys and buying back the contracts that they have already sold and raising the prices once again??? are we to be left to the mercy of these unscrupulous blood sucking leeches??? where does it stop??? You sign a contract with me for a service and I sell it to someone else who doubles the price' or even triples it if they feel like it. Fair (I think not) we need to take a stand, and we need to take it starting right here with Alltel.

That is 1/2 truth.

For example, the Xbox Games sell the Xbox, same with the PS3. Both companies, Microsoft and Sony take a "hit" each time they sell a console.

When you talk about retail keep in mind that's not the price to the company itself, just what it deems/thins it can sell that product for.

I'm sure to actually make the product with all the assembly lines is less then $50.

Bluesage,

Do you understand the significance behind the ETF? When you're searching for a PCS phone, the PCS carrier will only charge a portion of the original PCS price. For instance, you see many sales on the TV for a RAZR for only $0.99! Wow! $0.99 for a RAZR!? Yes, if you agree to a contract. While you're in the contract, the company is slowly getting the money back for the phone they sold you for only $0.99, because in all reality, the RAZR retail is $350.00! Do you want to pay $350.00 for a phone? You can, and you won't have a contract, nor an ETF, if you want to cancel.

Your logic is flawed, and until you see what the ETF is about, you won't have a very good argument.

As for the topic on hand, Pickster you may want to review your original contract with Midwest Wireless. It's usually stated that they may be purchased and you could be the customer of another company at any given time.

I think it is utterly stupid and this "ex-exmployee" makes it in black and white how crazy and ridiculous this really is.

"Since there was countless inserts in the bill about the conversion, that would then make the change from Midwest to Alltel completely legal, among other things."
--- Can't really be an 'ex-employee' and have access to that information I'm quite sure.

"You just need to pay an ETF to get out of the contract your in."
--- Just!!! Just??? Early termination fees should become illegal or proportional to the service provided. I am just one of a few people that are working on making ETF's illegal. Yea not many lawyers are willing to side with such a case but there are a couple out there that aren't too expensive.

I think you really need to take a look at what you just said and don't try to push over your company on this individual. He's trying to make a point across that it is pathetic he should have to pay the fee yet i'm d**n sure you are making others do the same. We should bring up your company for every individual that is forced to pay a ETF as above. That should set you straight and your company.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

The ToS explains in all...

If you were to read the Terms and Services of MWW is does explicitly state that the customer base must be notified within 3 days of any changes made to the ToS.

Since there was countless inserts in the bill about the conversion, that would then make the change from Midwest to Alltel completely legal, among other things.

That and no one is keeping you hostage. You just need to pay an ETF to get out of the contract your in.

I don't know about you, but its not like Alltel hasn't merged companies before. These little hiccups are normal.
