I have Samsung cell phone #A777 slide phone. Service with AT&T. I purchased phone less than 3 months ago. Warranty stated is limited 1 year. AT&T was called and I was referred to Samsung repair. I sent phone in and was told that I abused the phone because the inner part of the LCD screed was cracked due to excessive pressure. That could make sense due to the phone being in my pocket while I momentarily layed under by truck and must of rolled over a bit to put pressure on the phone. Or it could of been that I put pressure on it while inspecting the damage and trying to see to screen better. This pressuree was from my fingers pressing lightly on the screen. I say------If they make a phone that fragile, that is ridiculous and they should recall the phone. Instead they make a profit in repair. The phone should be designed with a cover to protect the LCD. It stinks that a handful of cell companies have monopolized that industry and can operate business in such a poor manner. They know they can get away with these typye of actions because I am only one of 20 million (maybe 100 million worldwide) and they don't need to satisfy me.

Just Don't Make Them Like They Used Too..

Yeah they need to build these cell phones much better, I dropped mine in the toilet for only a econd and it never worked again-they should be waterproof. Sidenote good thing it was the phone I instantly reached in and grabbed.

Than last year while coming into port on a cruise I was on the balcony and asked my wife for the cell phone to call for our ride home, she tossed it to me a little to hard and off the balcony into the water it went, there should be some king of instant deploying lanyard on these things in case they sense being tossed to far.

Or the one I lost at the store on a sunday night and feel it should have a way to auto shut it down from a remote location so no one finds it.

OP, I wonder if you think you can stand on a carton of eggs without any breaking as the carton should be designed to withstand a persons weight.

"I momentarily layed under by truck and must of rolled over a bit to put pressure on the phone". = "I sat on phone". You ought to get a job with the government.

AT&T Responds

AUTHOR: Ron - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, April 15, 2010

AT&T did resolve the dispute by crediting my phone bill to cover the cost of repair. I informed them that they helped renew my faith that, maybe they do care about their reputation. I do understand that some people will take advantage in these situations. Problem is that honest people could suffer the consequenses. I still am completely dissatisfied that Samsung sells such a fragile phone and they don't stand behind their product. I was told by Samsung to buy a hard holster. *****Thumbs up to AT&T***
