Six months ago i signed a contract with Cellulare One. When I get home use the phone to call one of my friends and i could barley hear them but i just let it go. It started getting worse. I couldn't even complete one phone call. I was lucky if I could even dial the number and then it would only last about thirty seconds.
Finally I get mad and go up to Cellular One 5 months later. They say sorry and give me a new phone for free. I go home make a phone call and it works a little. I decide to buy a ringtone for $2.50. About a week later it was worse than before. I am getting very mad. I go to get the mail and my bill is there. Then i saw they charged TEN DOLLARS for my ring tone!
I go back up to Cellular One again and they file a trouble ticket. They told me to come back in a week. I go back and see they completely ingnored the trouble ticket. So the say sorry again and give me another phone. Now my ten dollar ringtone is gone. I go home and go to my top floor and make a call. 5 minutes into the call it is dropped. Again it starts.
I go back up to Cellular One and they say that my house is the one that is screwing with my phone. So they give me this generic antenna that is about 5 in. tall and the wire is about 6 feet long. They want me to use this every time i make a call. Later my dad comes over (he has Cingular) and we go down in the basement. I check my phone and I am suprised to see i have one bar (THAT'S A BIG IMPROVMENT). My dad checks his phone and he has five. So I'm guessing it's not my house. I don't have enough money to pay those cancellation fees. What can i do???

There are a few things I guess I'm not understanding. The first being that if your phone was not working, why did you wait 5 MONTHS? I'm surprised they even gave you a brand new phone for free that much later for one. For 2, Cingular and Cellular One, from my understanding share the same towers, so why one would get service and the other does not I don't get that. another thing being the antenna they gave you. I have never heard of this, what phone did you have? Also your home if it has aluminum siding can effect your service I've been told, so it wasn't wrong of anyone to think that it may just be your house. Lastly, the 10 you were charged for your ring tone, its not FREE to surf around to find the ringtone, so it could be your charges from getting on and looking for it. Unless you have an internet package, that would have given you extra charges. You are charged the price of the ring tone PLUS the time spent looking for it. Just some thoughts..

I am just responding to your ripoff...i understand how frustrating it can be whenever your phone does not work in your home area. I for one live in the Boardman/Poland area and my cellular one phone works fine...in fact all of the youngstown area has great coverage! If you are within your 14 day trial you can cancel without the ETF...but if you are not then yes, you will have to pay the ETF or ride out your contract...because Cellular One does give a 14 day trial for this purpose..you can switch out your phone 2 times during the 14 day trial...after the 2nd switch out...then you can only cancel or stick with the contract....
Now if you can not afford the ETF and you are seriously thinking about cancelling we do have a 20.00 plan. It is called the Statewide 100. You get 100 minutes for the whole month no roaming charges as long as you are within Ohio , Erie, Sharon, Butler...You could go with the other service provider and then just pay monthly payments on ETF...get it>?
