Center For Credit Counseling Services AKA Gibson Trust AKA CFCCS AKA goldstar financial AKA nors ripoff Deerfield Beach Florida

This company is run by thieves. They operated for several months without the required 501-C3 status required by the creditors to accept credit counseling programs. This means that the creditors, who do work with honest 501C3 companies, were rejecting any proposals that were sent from this compnay due to the fact they did not have non-profit status as they claimed.

Now, most creditors do accept payments from non 501C3's but they will not provide the benefits such as reduced interest or waived late and over limit fees unless the credit counseling compnay has this license. Basically, they would tel the clients that they were "still negotiating" with their creditors, actually , the creditors were refusing to work with them due to the lack of the required license. CFCCS opened it's doors in Jauary of 2001 but did not get the IRS 501C3 until Late October/Early November.

This means they were cheating people and telling them bald faced lies about how the creditors were being unresponsive, when actually they knew full well the creditors would not work with them. In any case Patrick O'Toole is well known to be associated with dishonest companies such as this. Additionally his wife, Donna Canty-O'Toole is in on it. Some other names associated with the start up of this company as wee as Gibson Trust are:

Martha Allen (O'Toole's sister?)
Bernie Allen (Nephew)
Cheryl Chambers (part owner)
Betsy Jimenez (supposedly customer service, but they don't provide any level of actual service, other than to their own wallets)/.
Tom Allen
Donna Canty-O'Toole
Tim Setterlund (sleaze ball lawyer for Gibson Trust/Patrick O'Toole, has his office in the Gibson Building).
ALso beware of any "customer service" people as they are only there to string you along until the next time you call.
Remember, any honest credit counseling companies should have a 501c3 statuys, and should be willing to give you the license number of this document so you can check them out yourself.

While Honest credit counseling companies (and there are some out there) will help plenty7 of people deal with their debts, it is the ones like this that give the whole industry a bad name. Unfortunately there are people like the O'Tooles/Chambers that want a fast buck and will scam whomever they can to make it.
