The short version; hypnosis didn't work for me and neither did her claim of "Satisfaction Guaranteed". Lois Prinz (Master Hypnotist, ripoff artist) claimed she couldn't predict the outcome of every patient (although I was the ideal candidate in the beginning-hmmmm, what happened?) and she did not give refunds but I could continue with hypnosis sessions (at the regular rate). How generous is that? And why would I do that when it obviously does not work for me.

Anybody planning to use the Center for Hypnosis/Lois Prinz beware. Find out exactly what she intends to do if her hypnosis doesn't work and get it in writing (or just watch her squirm and then leave) because the "Satisfaction Guaranteed" claim in her ad is bogus.

What About the Thousands of Satisfied Customers?

AUTHOR: Lois - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 12, 2009

I googled my name recently (who hasn't out of curiosity?) to learn that I had an unhappy hypnosis customer. I was even more surprised to learn that "I" had responded to here and in not such a therapeutic manner.

The fact is, four years ago, my office manager took care of this "detail" on my behalf, never telling me, and speaking for me. That office manager is no longer with me.

In my defense, I have served my clients for the past 28 years and assisted thousands of happy, successful hypnosis participants. I have always said, if you have a problem with me, come to me, or exercise Right of Redress to the National Guild of Hypnotists. I don't know why this woman was unhappy with me as I work with EVERYONE in a respectful and integritious manner.

Center For Hypnosis has been a member of the BBB for the past eleven years. That might have been a better forum for this gal if we couldn't have resolved her issue, which we would have if given a chance. I would appreciate it if she contacted me personally at 505-292-2237 or visit my Center at 2420 Juan Tabo, NE in Albuquerque, NM. Also my email is poschg@aol.com if she would like to rectify this issue.

Remember our guarantee states if you don't think you were hypnotized on your first visit, we will refund your money in full. Our Complainer didn't do that. She also did not listen to the CD I had made for her, so how can she benefit?

Additionally, she didn't stay with the planned therapy we had designed just for her, and if you don't put something into the process, how can there be the reward?

I wish Cynthia well.

Respectfully,
Lois Prinz, Certified Hypnotherapist and Instructor of Clinical Hypnotism

Clearing up matters

AUTHOR: Voice Of Reason - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 06, 2008

Having read the original report, the rebuttal, and the subsequent comments, I feel it appropriate to clear up some apparent misconceptions. Although I am not defending the nature of the comments from the business owner, as obviously her last comment was totally inappropriate and rude, I am interested in clearing up the misconceptions surrounding her guarantee as well as what can be reasonably expected in a therapeutic situation.

I, myself am a therapist who utilizes hypnosis as solid tool in helping people with a wide range of issues. It does work if you work it. If one is expecting the therapist to weave some magic spell that all of a sudden changes their life without any personal effort, that is a naive assumption. The client must follow the protocol and expend some effort in reaching their goals, and not simply be hoping someone else does it all for them. In this case, the topic is weight loss. The job of the therapist is to guide you in the direction of envisioning yourself as a thin person, teach you self-hypnosis, and help you learn how to support your efforts with validating self-talk. If she did those things, she did her job. If the client follows the directions of a qualified hypnotherapist, and puts for the effort required, the almost assuredly succeed.

As far as her guarantee, I checked. It does indeed state that if you don't go into hypnosis on your first visit, then merely say so, and you are not charged for your visit.

Yes, the comments she left were inappropriate and not therapeutic in nature. I'm not taking either side in this disagreement, because I see valid points on both sides. I just felt it necessary to dispel the myth that the therapist does all the work for the client. Therapists are best viewed as guides, and coaches, because they cannot perform the work only the individual can do. They can however be very instrumental in helping you achieve your own change.

I Cannont Believe You Said That!

"Sorry you didn't lose your weight. Oh well, try eating less!!"

Wow, you are a true professional! How is anyone to expect help from a person that is so obviously negative?

I would of expected a more thereapeutic response, but then again, we are talking about a hype profession.

Proof is in her last comment!

AUTHOR: Kate - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 29, 2005

Proof that Lois is nothing more than a snake oil salesperson (and not a very nice person besides!) is in her final comment: "Oh,well, try eating less!"

What a callous remark! What sort of empathic professional (so-called!) can you possibly be if your final words to a dissatisfied customer, regardless of that customer's complaint, are so flippant and rude?

No one in your profession (if you can call it that) should expect to mouth off to someone like that and NOT expect them to file a complaint.

Regardless of whatever contract you had between you, Lois, and regardless of who is ultimately right or wrong, that retort of yours proves you don't have what it takes to be any sort of healer....not with that attitude. Just because someone makes a complaint against you, you decide to be hurtful? Grow a thicker skin, honey.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Owner Center For Hypnosis

AUTHOR: Lois - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 14, 2005

The Satisfaction Guaranteed deal was, and is this, "If a client doesn't think or feel that they went into an altered state of hypnosis after the first visit, all money's will be refunded."

What this means is that the client has to have the presence of mind to voice this after the first visit, not after the 5th visit when they don't lose the weight they hoped for. How can we realistically guarantee that a person will lose weight? The answer, of course, is that we can't.

What we can guarantee is that the client will go into trance and while here, and that we will provide them with the best suggestions applicable for their issues(s).

For every person that "isn't successful" we have dozens that are. Frankly, I think it's quite unfair and disconcerting than a single disgruntled client can come on this website and slander my business with no proof or verification, just because they didn't lose their desired weight.

There are no "magic buttons" that we press to make people be successful. That's up to the individual and therefore, their success or lack thereof is not our responsibility, but that of the individual. We just facilitate that person to enter hypnosis and provide appropriate suggestions thereafter.

To "guarantee their success" is ridiculous! This would place the burden solely on us and not the client, the only one who can truly can produce change.

Sorry you didn't lose your weight. Oh well, try eating less!!
