My mother wanted to get a 14 day trial of this Hoodia junk - that did nothing by the way (I think it is tap water), so I let her use my credit card for the shipping costs. Pay nothing if you cancel right? WRONG! She called and canceled because she did not see nor feel anything when she took it. She talked to someone named Corey who told her she would not be charged. Then I was charged $39.95 and $38.95 on 4/6/09. I freaked out! I had mom call them right away and at that time, they decided to tell her she had to send the "unused" product back with a tracking number so they could refund her. She told the guy that she used the water but had the three other products left. He assured her that was fine and just to call back with the tracking number and he would put the money back.
Ok, so she sent two of the bottles of pills back and did not send the water as he told her it would be fine, then called back with the tracking number and was assured that she would receive her refund within 48 hours. On 4/10/09 I was charged $38.95 and $38.95 AGAIN - after the package was received by their company already. So I called them. I was told that in order to receive the refund, we would have to wait until they looked in the package to confirm that they actually received the product back. I argued that this is different information than what we got the last 3 times we talked, and asked for a supervisor. I was told that this is not a supervisor phone call - this is the same thing they told my mother when she called - and the person TIM hung up on me.
So I called back. I got a young lady and asked for a supervisor immediately - she said she was one. So I gave her the whole story and told her that I wanted all of my money back immediately or I was contacting a lawyer. She said "Let me transfer you to a supervisor" and before I could say "I thought you were a supervisor" she transferred me to the same guy that hung up on me - TIM! He answered and told me "Hi I am Tim I am the supervisor here what can I do for you?" I told him "Didn't I just talk to you??" He said "You know what - you did. What can I do for you?"
After talking and talking, I got from him that we had to send each product back in a seperate box to get more than one refund back. Also, the product has to be unused - how the heck can it be a trial if you can't use it to try it? Plus, even if it is unused they still charge a "re-stocking fee" which is how they make their money.
I found 266 complaints today about this company. I wish I would have read them before mom decided to become one of their consumers! BEWARE! These people are crooks and the customer service people treat you like garbage when you call. They insult your intellegence and they laugh while you cry and tell them you have 5 kids to take care of and can not afford $160 for nothing. They are cold and calculating and should be in jail!
