I've been getting a harassing calls on my home tel no. and cell number from a "Greg" from CPC. I have no idea what this is for. The worst part is that he called my ex-father-in-law ("Ben") at his home (tel number is only 3 years old). Now, hold on... that is not unusual if I Ben co-signed on credit or was a reference on something. But get this! Ben's is my ex- father-in-law for over 20 years! Ben called to let me know this person is looking for me from CPC; he sounded very threatening to him and pushy. Basically, Ben said I don't live there and didn't know who he was talking about.

While I am on the phone with Ben - I get a call from my ex-brother-in-law (("Ralph") not on the same side of the family as Ben). He said this guy Greg called his cell looking for me. His cell is also about 4 years old. And we haven't been "family" for over 10 years. Again, not as a reference

SOL is California is 4 years. Obviously, this is a very - very old debt that is not possible I owe.

One thing I think CPC may have done - at least the best I can figure out is that some people that I have friended on facebook listed their telephone numbers on their profiles (unbeknownst to them) and if they are public they can be contacted. There is just no other way to connect them to me.

Now that I have the complete address of CPC - thanks to RipOff Report - I will write to this idiot and send a letter to cease and desist. I always send a cc to the CA attorney general and the FTC - always! Consumers! Don't stand by and be the fool. This zombie debt is ruining our credit and reputation. If by chance this is a debt that is owed in a collection - the best advise I've seen on this forum is to let the collections agencies know that I will not be dealing with them and will only deal with the original creditor directly (that is whom you have a contract with). If they do not want to accept my money - I will have it removed from my credit report as not accepting payment. - Thanks RipOff Report - again!
