A lady called and said she was with Centurian Financial, that they helped people with bad credit, giving them a Master Card with no interest for 3 years and only 4.9% apr. This would allow people to rebuild and restore the credit. "FRAUD!"

I went over it again several times with her about the one time fee, the no interest for 3 years and the low 4.9%apr. She assured me me that is what it was. She said if I had any more questions or concerns to just call he at 1-866-784-0260 ext. 9000, That her name is Someera and her empolyee # is EV263.

This company took $249.00 out of our checking account. I was told it was a one time fee and would take 17 days business days for the Master card to come and that was on Nov 17th 2004. "FRAUD"

I tried to call Someera back at Centurian financial about 3 to 4 days later to see if they said they took the $249.00 on Nov 17th 2004 like my checking account showed. So I keep watch for the card in case of any problems. I did not get to talk to this Someera again.

Instead I got another lady who was very rude from the start of the call. I informed her of why I was calling. Right off she said no it takes 25 buisness days for it to come. I told her that is not what I was told when I agreed to get the card. She said oh well it still takes 25 business days, and said it would be there then and hung up. "FRAUD"

I tried to reach Someera the next day this would have been about Nov 26th 2004, I spoke to the same rude lady from the day before, and she recieted the same thing about 25 business days.

I have tried to contact them every day since, from the time I get up until 5pm, thier closing time, and all I get is a automated recoring saying all agents are busy please hold, then
all agents are busy please try to call again later or leave a message and we will return your call. "FRAUD"

Today is "going on the offensive" day. Accounts have been closed, reports to AG's offices and consumer protection groups written, AND my husband hunts people for a living. Today he starts on these clowns. This is his thinking...A crime is a crime no matter who it's target is, but these parasites are going after people who are already in deep financial straits. And adding insult to injury, at Christmas time. Defrauding families out of thier last dollars with lies of having a usable credit card just before the holidays? Whoever it was who came to profit from my Grandchildrens and my husbands childrens disappointment and our shame and rage will be held accountable.

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish you file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 # , and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/comptroller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

Centurian Financial-CREDIT CARD FRAUD

AUTHOR: Carolyn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 29, 2004

Wanted to give everyone an update, I called my bank today and explaind the situation to them about Centurian Financial, they told me that since Centurian Financial did a check draft which did not have my actual signature on it, that leagally I had 60 days to stop the transaction and have my money refunded. My bank refunded my money to me today, but they also warned me that if Centurian Financial ia a fraudulant company, and the bank can not get thier money back that they would have to debit it from my account again. So I am still not out of the woods yet. My husband and I will not stop though until this is resolved to are satisfaction. We hope all of you will continue to fight to.

Also the bank said the best thing to do is to close my account and open a new one, because Centrurian has all my information now so they can send any type of transaction what ever they want, and when ever they want.

I went to my bank today and explained the situation, and they told me that since Centurian did a check draft which did not have my actual signature on it, that legally I had 60 days to stop the transaction and to get my money refunded. So today my bank refunded the money back to my account. But they also said that if Centurian is a fraudulant company and the bank could not get thier money back that they would have to debit it from my account again. So I am still not out of the woods yet, But my husband and I will not stop trying until this is resolved to are satisfaction.
