I was online checking my account when I saw an overdraft fee for a check that should have been written over 600 checks ago. No image was available. When I called the bank, they said the funds were going to Empire Steak and Seafood for a bounced check fee. The next day I went to my bank, and they pulled up an image of the check. Was drafted by Certegy on behalf of Empire and stated check was pre-authorized. A previous check to Empire had cleared the second time it was presented, and I never heard anything else. Being in collections years ago myself, I know that checks cannot be created without speaking to the account holder. No such authorization was given, no contact was made, and I have had to close my account of ten years with the banking institution for fear that this would be an ongoing theft.  Neither of these companies have contact numbers readily available or local address. They created corporations with jurisdiction in Georgia and Maryland. I plan on filing complaints with the Attorney General and Banking Authority. Empire will be turned into the health department and department of taxation as well. I promise you, you will remember me by the time I'm done chasing you thieves out of New York, and hopefully out of the Country.

Thanks for the Heads Up

Thanks for listing this because I stopped payment on a check for Twin Cities Steak & Seafood due to basic fraud sales (no way to return the product even though there is a 3-day guarantee), nobody would return my calls and now I received a payment notice from them.  (I had stopped payment within 30 minutes of the transaction to reduce my loss).

Filing with AG office in MN as well as a conciliation court filing because this is ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed period.

Much appreciated!
