Merchants and Consumers DO NOT TRUST CERTEGY PAYMENT RECOVERY SERVICES! Their employees have no idea what they are doing and their managers are worse.
Certegy Payment Recovery Services called me and demanded payment on two returned checks plus thirty dollars for each check and a five dollar fee. I was aware of a problem with a deposit at my bank, which resulted in several returned checks and I wanted to take care of the checks as soon as possible. I got online to PayMyBill.com, which is where Certegy Payment Recovery Services told me I could pay them and took care of the checks that day. The very next day I was online to verify my bank statement and noticed that the merchant, who the checks were written to, sent the checks thru my bank the second time and they cleared.

I called Certegy and explained what happened. I asked why they had called me and demanded payment when my checks were being sent thru my bank the second time. They told me it was a mistake and I should have never been called and then said, "Well I guess you are asking for a refund." They then began transfering me around to different departments and everyone was as ignorant as the next. One departemnt would guarantee the "Customer Service" department would refund my money the fastest but when transfered to that department they were clueless. The "Customer Service" department would then promise me the next person could help me only to transfer me back to the person who sent me to them.

Finally, a lady in a different department asked me to hold "she wanted to speak with her supervisor so she could definitely help me." After a long hold, she comes back to tell me her supervisor will speak to me. Of course none of them will let me speak. They all hurry up and transfer me before I can say anything. So I am transfered to her "supervisor" and after it rings atleast six times, the "supervisors" recorder picks up. It was a true circus at Certegy Payment Recovery Services.

So now my bank account has been tagged twice for these checks along with sixty five dollars in fees and all because of Certegy Payment Recovery Services collected money from me which I did not owe. Please Please everyone be aware of this company. My mother is elderly and I always tell her not to pay companies that call to collect money and now it happened to me. This company is sly!!!!
