Champion Brick Repair Travis Nech Took my money and disappeared Hudson Oaks Texas

Champion Brick Repair, IE Travis Nech, provided me with an estimate to repair a section of stone wall on my stone house. We agreed to a price and he showed up to start the project, oh, and requested 1/3 down. I wrote him a check for $1200. I have a stone faced house and a section of the wall (15 x 12) was pulling away from the house. Travis immediately caused the whole wall to collaspe leaving my interior walls exposed to the elements. Over the next few days I had to call him every day to see if he was going to show up that day, and these calls were at 10am, hours after a normal contractor would begin work. I heard a number of lies from this guy. He told me he needed to insert a steel beam for support and had the place he bought it from drill holes to mount it

He tells me one morning they (the steel place) didn't drill it yesterday so he was waiting on them to finish today, but later in the day he tells me his ex wife showed up at his place in the middle of the night and they had gotten into a fight, so he had slept late. People who tell lies can't remember all the lies they tell. Then suddenly he has an Uncle that passes away, another lie? He tells me he went to the funeral and wouldn't be bck in town till Monday. He said he should be all but done with the job on Tuesday. Tuesday comes and no Travis. He finally answers his phone early afternoon and says he is just getting in to town, he is tired. It's late in the day so I tell him not to come today, rest. Wednesday, no travis. No respose to text messages either. He finally answers the phone around mid day and says "I am on the other line, I will call you right back, which was one more lie from this guy. I haven't heard from him since. Meanwhile my interior walls are still exposed to the outside and a pile of stone lays on the ground. 

I have hired another contractor to finish the job. The new guy says that the steel beam Travis had to have isn't needed. The sand Travis had delivered is to fine, and a few other things. Did I Get ripped off? You Bet!

I am not sure of the laws but i am pursuing a lawsuit to recover damages. 

Be aware Champion Brick Repair has what looks like a real web site and claims he is listed on Angies list. He also stated he had insurance, but it had expired 4 months ago. Travis Nech, a real piece of work! Stay away from him!
