I purchased windows from Champion windows of Omaha Nebraska and have had nothing but problems with these windows from the start. The techs from Champion windows have been to my house numerous times and can never get my windows so that they will seal and not leak air.
Now it has gotten to the point that I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau that Champion windows brags about being with and having several awards from. My first written complaint went to the owner of Champion windows (Alan Freil) on 1-18-09 and Champion windows had to be reminder of the dispute on two seperate occasions ( by the BBB)1-22-09 and then 2-11-09 and we finally got a response from Champion on 3-3-09.
As you can imagine Champion windows is not at fault and they will not back up their life time warranty for as long as you own your home we stand behind our windows warranty used as a sales pitch to get you to by their leaky windows.
Let me tell you what is wrong with the windows, we have to put plastic on new replacement windows because so much air comes thru them you can see your breath in the winter. I took video of these windows with plastic on them to show how they balloon out when the wind blows, I have gotten smoke sticks and have video's of the smoke stick testing on my windows. I have offered to let the owner of Champion windows view these video's but he will not even look at them for reasons beyound me.
I have filed a second complaint with the bbb and I get the same run around from the owner and he will not respond to my complaint and the bbb has sent him another notice for failure to respond that was on 4-6-9. Champion windows is a very poor excuse for a window company and anyone who would buy their windows from them is just asking for a lot of problems. Consumer beware.

In a previous posting, I said that Champion Windows of Omaha had installed windows in my home that leaked air, but I have come to realize that the windows are performing properly. I purchased 4 slider windows and 2 casement windows from Champion. They did a quality job on the installation of all of the windows and I have never had a problem with their workmanship in installing the windows. Also, I have never had any problem with the casement windows. However, I live in a valley where there are very high winds. Because of the high winds, it appeared that the slider windows were letting air in. I called Champion and their employees visited my home on several occasions and did everything that they could to try to help, even though there was no problem with the installation. The windows still let in some air, but Champion did everything they could to try to address the issue and I dont believe there is any defect in the windows themselves. I think its just from the high winds that are in the valley where my house is located. So, I wanted to let everyone know that Ive resolved my dispute with Champion Windows of Omaha.
