Charity Navigator presumably evaluates and rates charities and also accepts donitions on behalf of and transmits the funds to them. They also requests a donation to support their activity.
This seemed like a needed service so I made a donation to two charities and also made a donation to the service. In addition, I paid aprocessing fee of 4.75%.
I am involved personally with one of these two charities and would be aware if a donation was received.
It has now been 45 days since I made the donations. No money has been received by the charity that I'm associated with and I have not received any acknowledgement of the donation from the other charity.
Now I'm seriously wondering if Charity navigator is a scam. Certaintly it was a mistake to make these donations through them even if they do eventually deliver the funds -- both because of the cost and the lack of efficiency.
