We had Charter install cable last week and the installer left the cable from the pole to the house across the driveway on the ground.  I live with a disabled, decorated US Army veteran.  This is a serious trip hazard as well as a hardship as we can not park the car next to the house.

After almost an hour on the phone I was told it could be a month before the cable is buried.

This is how Charter treats people and could care less about VETERANS.  Vets that have protected their ability to endanger those who have protected them.

SHAME on charter.  Please write them or your house rep.

I live in Spartanburg and just dumped Charter for the last time. I had their crappy cable service. Cancelled that 2 1/2 years ago! If it rained anywhere east of the Mississippi river, Charter failed. I also had their internet service. Crappy is too nice a word to use. Try 6 weeks with daily, on again, off again computer SERVICE? Called every week, sometimes every day in those 6 weeks. Got a kid who came out, couldn't find the problem, said he'd turn it over to his supervisor. Of course the supervisor  never showed up.

My daughter had their phone service in Spartanburg. It was always failing. She moved to Union,SC and ran  iinto Charter phone trouble there, too. My sister-in-law lives in the northern part of the county, big problems with Charter there, too. If Charter goes out of business, I won't lose any sleep over it.

By the way, I'm also a vet(USAF-12yrs) and I thank you for your service.

Something is not right

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

I have never heard of a cable company just leaving a cable loose across a driveway.  Whether or not you are disabled, that just seems like the installer was lazy or incompetent.

When they came to install it did they say that it would have to go across the driveway until they could come back and bury it?  Why did it have to go across your drive way?  Was there no other "route" it could have taken?

Who is responsible for paying to bury the cable?  Generally the subscriber is responsible for installation costs, so if you are responsible for the cost can you just have someone else come out and do it?  Depending on what exactly is involved you could probably find some handyman to come out and it may even be cheaper and faster than having them do it.
