Chase Bank Charges Unfairly Timed Service Fees Corona, California

Over the last couple of months, it has become evident to me  that Chase Bank will charge you a "service fee" of 10 dollars right at the moment when your checking account reaches an amount less than 10 dollars. It seems fairly obvious to me that Chase deliberately charges you this fee to purposely make your account overdrawn so it can collect an additional overdraft fee of 34 dollars. So, if you do the math, you can see that you will be charged 44 dollars just by their little "service fee" strategy; one of the most unfair strategies that, in my humble non-expert opinion, equates petty theft of its customers.

First off, I am currently a full time student attending college under the Post 911 GI Bill. As any other veteran attending college under those benefits can attest, it is a very unreliable benefit when it comes to giving you your monthly allowance on time; it sometimes takes months just to get it. Because of that, I have been living from paycheck to sporadic paycheck. I explained my situation to Chase, hoping their reps might understand my situation. However, they were pretty rude and condescending towards me, told me that there's nothing they can do and to try to keep money in my account (a feat that becomes difficult after rent, bills, gas, books, etc.).

As a result of its unfair business practices, I have decided to leave Chase once and for all. Never again will I bank with that institution.
