In response to Chase Carmen Hunter’s rebuttal to the other person who submitted a complaint against them, note that I *was* polite, patient, followed all your rules, and you played the same type of game with me, oh “wise insurance agent.”  And hey - if you want to ensure people don’t confuse your company name with the name of an agent, perhaps company emails shouldn’t end with, “Thank you, Chase Hunter” or Sincerely, Chase Hunter, Insurance Agent.”  But on a happy note, thank you for having the body of your emails in so many different font faces that any reasonable person can tell that the text is being cut and paste from several different places.  That was super helpful!

Now here’s my story.  I was instructed by my city to get $100K Liability Insurance for my dog.  I contacted Chase Agency and applied online.  I chose them because they said the cost would be $180.  After completing this application online, I later received an email questionnaire from them on.... my current CAR insurance coverage!  What???  The email stated that this information was necessary to many of the companies they work with so I complied.  Chase promises coverage within 24 hours but specifically directs you to NOT call them to not follow-up as that will hold up their process.  They provided me with a Declaration of Coverage stating I **applied** for insurance.  I paid my money and assumed I was covered.  Well I was not.  When my city authority asked for proof of insurance I wasn't able to locate any finalized documents.  I tried but was never able to get through to an actual person at Chase Hunter, so I applied online again.  Waited, waited, waited.  Crickets from Chase Agency.  A few weeks after this second attempt at insurance, I received an email from them asking if I still needed this insurance.  I replied, "If I said yes, how long would it take?"  Later that same evening they sent me an email saying that the premium was now $240 and "If you accept this offer, you SHOULD get your proof of insurance within 24 hours as long as your credit card is approved."  They had attached a disclosure form and noted, "You will need to sign the attached disclosure form. But you don't need to sign it now. I am only providing it for your reference".  This disclosure form instructed potential clients to read insurance policies carefully to confirm they don’t exclude dogs.  I responded to the offer email by stating, "I have read the disclosure and once I read the actual policy and confirm it doesn't exclude dogs, yes, I will sign and pay."  Their response?  Get this...

- Your email below shows that you have declined the offer.

- The email below explains the coverage.

- If you don't trust the statements in the email and need to see the policy, then I can't help you since sample policies are not provided.

I replied:  Really?  Your own disclosure instructs me to read the policy!  "The way you determine whether or not a dog is covered is by reading the policy."

I’ll never hear from them again, and thank goodness for that.  The frustration with trying to deal with this so-called “company” is just too stressful.

Customer Admits To Not Being Ripped Off

AUTHOR: Chase Agency - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, June 11, 2016

This person admits to not having been ripped off.  No money changed hands. This seems like one of those complaints filed by a competitor who sent an impossible customer to stir up problems just so they can post negative comments on the internet.  This is not a "rip off" complaint. It is more of a complaint about a misunderstanding that this person had which obviously started from the first email communication (in which this person's complaint shows that she objected to the simple underwriting questions).

It appears that this person didn't understand the disclosure which provides education about insurance in general.

Regardless, the person applied for insurance for her dog. A quote for her dog was offered according to the complaint.

And for some reason, the person believed that the quote offered for insurance for her dog was apparently not a quote for insurance for her dog? And she needed to get a copy of her policy before she purchased to make sure that the quote offered for insurance for her dog was for a quote for insurance for her dog?

No insurance company provides sample policies and this is an industry standard.  If you won't purchase a policy without first getting a sample policy, there is just no possible way that we can help you because sample policies are not provided.

If this person applied for insurance for her dog, obtained a quote for insurance for her dog; it is unclear why the person wanted to read a sample policy before she purchased to make sure that it was a policy for her dog.

It is possible that a simple phone call could have resolved this. We attempted to call this person before sending the email telling her that we don't provide sample policies. And she did not answer the phone and her voicemail box had not been set up yet.

So many misunderstandings can be resolved in one telephone call. But it is amazing how many people will send a scathing email due to a misunderstanding and who don't just pick up the telephone.

If you don't understand something, are making illogical statements and complaints, don't pick up the telephone to ask us for help, and are not available by telephone when we attempt to call you, we really don't have any options for helping you.

And the fact that this person filed a "rip off" report when she was not ripped off indicates that she approached us for no reason other than to fabricate an impossible situation so that she could post negative comments on the Internet.

Also, this person referred to a rebuttal that was posted in response to a separate complaint posted in 2013. So obviously, this person read the only other "rip off" report and continued to pursue a business association with us. But this rebuttal has been removed by "ripoffreport.com" for reasons unknown.  That rebuttal basically encouraged the person who posted a complaint in 2013 (who was not ripped off but whose complaint was similar to this person's complaint) to understand that an insurance agent is not like a used car salesman and is not going to jump through hoops to get your business because you have to pass an underwriting screen.  So screaming and making demands of that the insurance agent will only work against you.  But it is obvious that this person did not scream or make demands but was quietly objecting to having to answer simple underwriting questions right from the beginning.
