Chase Bank took over BP Amoco gasoline credit cards about a year ago. Be very aware that Chase has created a great scam for them to charge consumers a $29.00 late fee -

the 14th is the "Due" date every month
the 25th is the "Close" date every month

if you make the payment after the 14th, you are charged a late fee. if you make a payment before the 25th, Chase credits it to that month. then you have only to the following 14th - to be on time - Chase created this 11 day 'grey area' so that it compresses the valid time in the next billing cycle - 19 days - to be 'on time' with
a payment.

You do not have a month - or four weeks - or 27, 27, 29 days - to be 'on time' with these Chase accounts. It is 'on time' only if you make the payment between the 26th to the 14th of the next statement cycle month.

Check it out - that is only a time frame of 19 days - every month.

I know - I was recently caught on this scam by making two online payments in one month - one on the 11th (which by their definition was 'on time') - and another on the 25th - which they grabbed, credited to that month - and then three weeks later said I 'was late' -

I am sure that clever Chase accountants and lawyers made this 'legal' and their telephone support is - arrogant, condenscending, and worthless -

But this in my mind is 'unethical' - all my other accounts the 'grey area' between 'due' and 'close' is only 3 to 5 days -
