I don't even know where to begin with this company. I will start off by saying this business has caused me a lot of mental anguish. Recently, I had a 2 year arm with Chase that was almost up and I decided it was time to refinance. Up to this point, I never had any problems with Chase and they were always eager to take my money each month as I'm sure most businesses do.

Here's where it gets ugly. I spoke with Chase and submitted an application by phone with arepresentative. On October 30th, they pulled my credit and commented on how good it was (770) and I faxed in my bank statements, 401k, etc. They called me (2) business days later to tell my my application had been accepted by them and I told them I needed this done before December as my 2 year arm was up. They proceeded to tell me they will work with me and it shouldn't be a problem. They made an appointment with me to have my home appraised and said they would call me as soon as the appraisal was sent over to them.

On November 7th, they sent out a very young man to inspect my home at night time and he was there for no longer than 10 minutes and took absolutely no pictures. I questioned his experience as he seemed neverous and he told me he was doing this as a "hobby" and was new at it. The only question he asked me was, "What amenities does the subdivision have?" I answered him and he scribled down a few notes and told me he would submit the appraisal to chase within (2) business days.

On the 15th, Chase called me and told me they needed $395 to go any further so they could run the processing fees. I gave them my debit card over the phone and they gladly took my money. I asked about the appraisal and they told me they didn't have it and would call me within 2-3 business days.

Days go by and finally nearly two weeks later on November 30th, Chase called me and accused me of "whiting out" personal information that I had faxed over to them back on November 7th. I let them know I did not "white out" anything and I had to resubmit all my papers. The representative told me they would call me next week and let me know how things are going. She gave me her number and extension as well.

Next week came and went. By Friday, I called the representative and her voicemail stated she was on vacation and would not be in office until the following week! I about blew a head gasket!!!

Chase finally called me that following week and told me that my home appraisal came in too low and they could not further process my loan!

To make a long story short, I refinanced with Cornerstone Mortgage through GMAC and they appraised my hour for nearly $25K more by an experienced appraiser of 25+ years. Furthermore, my home was refinanced by the end of December. No problems, no hassles. Nice and friendly service!

Oh, and with an added bonus, theres more!!! After my account was closed with Chase on Dec 28th and they were paid off in full, they go and take another mortgage payment out of my checking account for January!!! I called them and told them their mistake and they told me it would take 21 business days to get my money refunded to my account!!!

With that said, this is my own personal experience with Chase and I will never do business with them again. Chase has their name for a reason and I'm sure it's related to them providing customers with a "wild goose chase." I'm sure there's plenty of people that had "good experiences" and love them to death, but they are a liability in my book.
