Chastelle Persians doesn't honor her contracts dover Ohio

4 1/2 yrs ago I put down a deposit on a male kitten w/Chastelle for breeding purposes. Like the other complaint on here I too was told the kitten developed a heart murmur. Juanita refuses to  tgour deeposit since it's n her contract that deposits are non-refundable.  I too, am a breeder.  It is customary to return deposits when the seller cancels the contract - which she did - and to not return the deposit if the buyer cancels.  On the rare occasion that she has responded to my emails abt a replacement her price has been double what that kitten was. I sent several emails abt a blue eyed calico she had available, she never responded on it.

I have 3 of her other cats, all purchased for breeding.  It is in her contract that if there is a problem with the cat being able to breed, then with and only with proof in writing from your vet tating the brreeding problems being submitted to us and to our vet of choice for verification will the cat be replaced with one of equal value and at the discretion of the breeder.

When she answered my email concerning the problem with the one girl we got from her, that we paid $2,000 for that will not breed & asking for our deposit bk on the kitten; her response was that she had been extremely ill and reminded me that deposits are non-refundable & said that girl was from her most productive line and asked if we used clindamycin with her.

I wrote her back, asked for pics of the kitten she had mentioned & asked several questions.  Haven't heard from her since.

I'm sorry she's been sick, but sick or not this is not the way you do business.  If you offer a breeding replacement, then you need to honor it. This girl has been treated with clindamycin on more than one occasion.  It doesn't matter if she's from her most productive line or not; this girl does not breed; and she was bred with 3 proven males.

As far as the deposit; I had a person change their mind on one of my kittens that was being bought as a pet only.  I thought it was a girl and it turned out to be a boy.  With being sold as a pet, the sex shouldn't have mattered, but I refunded their deposit anyway.
