Cheboygan Friend Of the Court Friend of the Court allowes my ex to sign for my 17 yr old daughter to be married so he won't have to pay child support, Cheboygan Michigan

Okay? Where do I begin? First of all, I am on my second marrage. I would like to begin with my current husband when he had to pay child support to his ex wife because this relates to my case. When my current husband divorced his wife, she claimed that he was abusive towards her but there were no records but she was automatically awarded full physical and legal custody with no visitations between him and his boys.

He was ordered to pay child support which he did without arguement. One time he was a day late because he didn't get paid yet and FOC was going to have him arrested so his boss sent him to the court house with a check to pay his child support. Another time they raised his child support without telling him and they were once again going to arrest him because he didn't pay enough so once again, his bos sent him to the courthouse with a check to pay the difference.

When I divorced my ex husband because he actually did abuse me. He had a hystery and arrest records of beating a prior girl friend but FOC awarded him supervised visits with our daughter which he violated by sneaking and taking off with her because his mom was the superviser and when I complained about that in court, they changed his supervised visits to unsupervised. He was court orderded to pay child support which he would go months without paying before FOC would send him a show cause letter.

Then when I complained a couple of times, I got sanctioned for six months to I didn't recieve anything. Did I mention that each time he quit paying then he started paying again after recieving the show cause letters that FOC would start him over on arrearages? They would start him at zero as if he never quit paying. This was going on since my daughter was four. In the end, I think she was seven when my ex husband had his parental rights taken away do to him leaving her alone in the care of her autistic brother who inapropriatly touched her and I turned it into CPS. They froze his visitation rights.

When my daughter turned seventeen, I was taking my nine year old to her well child appointment. When I got home, I recieved a text message from my ex husband with a photo attachment of my seventeen year old daughter's marraige license. It was two days after her seventeenth Birthday. August 13th, 2015 to be exact when this took place. He had signed his consent for her to be married. You can imagine the grief I felt. I still feel it. She is still in high school.

I told her on the phone that I wanted her home and my exhusband drover her home, with them was her new husband, her dad of course, her dad's brother, her autistic brother and Officer Lightner. I don't know why he was there. Probably because I was upset and he thought he was keeping the peace. I don't know.

Anyway, while in the parking lot, of my apartment at the time, my ex husband stood there putting me down, bragging about his 90,000.00 car which had nothing to do with this case so I didn't see a point. He then proceeded to say how I live off the governement and he called me trailer trash. I stepped forward telling him that he was doing all of this to get out of paying child support. That was when Officer Lightner stood in betwween me and my ex husband stating that "Now now, this isn't the Jerry Springer Show."

Officer Lighter made light of my grief. I did nothing wrong to desrve that abuse. I didn't deserve it. I fournd out later from my daughter and her husband that it was my ex husbands idea for them to be married so that he wouldn't have to pay child support and it worked. I believe joint legal custody meant that no legal decission was allowed to be made on her behalf without both parent's consent or approval.

That's why I couldn't get her bunion surgery without his consent as well but yet he was allowed to do this. My seventeen year old daughter although married and self emancipated as Officer Lightner explained, still can't go to the doctor's office without my signiture. She can't even get a flu shot without my signiture. Her education? my signiture. There is still so much she can't do without my signiture.

My ex husband was listed in the paperwork as the non-cusodial parent yet he was able to get away with this. I have moved to my current address as I have listed here. I have written that down and sent my change of address to FOC; I also metnioned that my ex husband had left the state of Michigan to somewhere in Bradenton Florida.

I then recieved a letter from FOC stating that they are closing my child support case. In the letter they said that it was being closed under title IV-D. I don't even know what that is. They didn't explain that to me. They said that they may destroy the record in 60 days which I will be requesting a copy of everything before that happens.

I know there is nothing I could do about her now being married and I don't care if I ever see child support again. I only want justice for what had been done to me. I feel as if I had been abused by the system and he was allowed to verbally abuse me in front of a police officer. I have been deprived of every mother's dream, the oppertunaty to help her daughter pick out a wedding dress & sit in that isle and take pictures as her daughter embarks on a brand new future.

All of that was taken away from me. I feel like nothing will get done about this. I feel that he will get away with it as he gets away with everything else. I have no faith in the legal system since the legal system did not protect me from him.
