I have been having trouble with roaches in my home. They were brought into the house in a produce box and went undetected until I had an infestation, mainly in the kitchen.

I have a modest ranch home with a finished basement, about 2000 square feet. I purchased two boxes of Rid-a-Bug foggers, 4 cans to a box, and dispursed them throughout the house and placed two of them in the kitchen area, following all directions to the letter.

We then vacated the house which is not an easy task. My wife's mother, 84 years old, is bed ridden. We are her caretakers and she is living her last days with us. She hasn't been out of the house in 14 months.

The long and the short of it is that the foggers did not work. I went into the kitchen that night and turned on the light and there were roaches, new born to adult roaches, everywhere. I grabbed a can of Raid Roach and Ant Killer and started spraying. When I sprayed between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling the roaches came boiling out. I swept them up and took a picture of them. Bombing the house with the Rid-a-Bug foggers was no more effective than using water to get rid of them.

I am not a novice at this. I once worked for a pest control company. I took the state exams and was certified as an exterminator.

I am very disappointed in the Rid-a-Bug Foggers and the company that makes them, especially since we had to go to a lot of trouble to vacate the house. I don't know when we will be able to get my mother-in-law out of the house again. Meanwhile, we still have roaches and even though I am trying other methods to erradicate them I am unable to rid the house of the roaches short of calling in a bug company.

I do not reccommend any Rid-a-Bug product to anyone.

In Agreement With Wesley of Georgia

I found this report while doing a Google search myself on some way to get my money refunded from this VERY company. We are in much the same situation here as Wesley is in Georgia. We don't have roaches, but we do have a bad flea infestation. We live in the wild, nearly fifty miles from anywhere. My husband is mentally and physically disabled, and on disability. He receives a very small monthly check that does not even get us through some months, and because of that we are in debt. I am his care-giver due to his mental instability, and because of that, I am not able to work outside the home. Because of our financial situation, we are seldom able to afford to even make it into any town to purchase items we need. However, once we were finally able to get to town, we bought four boxes of the Rid a Bug foggers, four cans to a box, which we really could not afford . . . but I was determined to get rid of the fleas. Like Wesley, we used the foggers following the directions on the back of the boxes to the letter. After dispersing the foggers in the house, we then left the house and spent an entire afternoon in a camper trailer in hundred degree heat without any air conditioning, to allow the foggers to do what the company claimed they would. Imagine our shock, despair, and anguish when upon returning to the house, we found that we still had a full blown flea infestation . . . the foggers hadn't even served to knock the population down any. If at all possible the problem seemed worse. It appeared that all the foggers did was stir them up. I am in complete agreement with Wesley, and do not recommend Rid a Bug products whatsoever. They don't work, and are not worth the money you spend on them.
