I have had my Chevron Texaco Mastercard for 3 or more years now, I have to watch them like a hawk, my most recent run in with them involved a late fee of $781.46 and a ldefault interest charge of $104.64. My payment was due on 8/4/2012, I placed a phone payment on 8/3/2012 and was informed that because my due date was on a Saturday my payment was late, although I had made the payment during business hours on a Friday. This is not the first run in I have had with this scam run by Chevron/Texaco.  In the past they have posted late fees and I have disputed them and had them reversed, which sounds reasonable, however it entailed 2-3 hours on the phone with various "customer service reps" they trasnferred me around and several times I would be sent to a number that was disconnected, at one point I was transferred to a company that had nothing to do with my charge account. The representatives are ineffective and rude, they do not have the ability or the interest in helping with anything other than processing the  most basic of transactions. It might interest you to know this is a monthly gas card for my company that gets paid on time each month the actual charges for the month I was charged close to $900 i n late charges was $4082.81 so we are loooking at a penalty of almost 25%. Please keep in mind this payment was made a day prior to the due date. Each time I call I ask for a supervisor, they never have a supervisor available and always tell me someonw will all in 3 business days. this rarely occurs, I have called back a week later, in many instances and complained that noone called me back to find out that they never even noted my account. This is a huge SCAM! They give you the run around until you are so frustrated that you are tempted to give up, over the course of the time I have had this card there have been close to $4500 in late fees that I have disputed. When I complained this last time the rep told me that although I made the payment on a Friday, 1 day prior to the due date on my bill, that becaise a Saturday, they day they list as my due date is not a business day they do not post until Monday so technically my payment is late, I would say that 80% of my bills come with a Saturday due date. This is an intentional and deliberate action on the part of Chevron Texaco Mastercard to place their customers on a position to think they have padi their bill on time only to find out they are considered late. There is nothing  on the phone payment menu to advise you that if the payment is made after a certain time or on a certain day that the payment will be considered late. One month I was getting nowhere with the phone system it kept putting me in a loop and I made a payment with a representative, yes a actual person, over the phone only to find out that they payment had been posted twice, for a total of approx $9.000. I did not have several hours that month to talk to several inept people in their "Customer Service" Dept so I let the credit roll into the next month leaving me with a credit after the following months charges of $500. No payment was neccessary as there was a credit. I received no less than 20 phone calls from their credit dept that month calling regarding my "late" payment after explaing to more than 5 people that there was a credit due to the double payment the month before I just ignored their subsequent phone calls, which I would receive to the tune to 2-4 calls a day. If I have explained this to 5 previous reps who have not bothered to correct the situation, then what is the point of tying up more time talking to more incompetent people who are ineffective and with unwilling ro unable to rectify this situation. BUYER BEWARE!! As soon as I receive my credit on this last "late Fee" I will be cancelling this card. I am sure Chevron.Texaco has not singled me out to harrass, I hope at some point I get a correspondence from an attorney regarding a class action law suit agains these people. I may even suck up more time and

look into contacting an attorney and seing about starting a class action law suit of my own. Chevron Texaco records record earnings each year and I can not help but beleive it is due to their unethical and

incompetent business practices.
