I, purchased a 2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder from Choice Auto Brokers and I am very dissatisfied with the purchase I made. It’s been more than a month now since I made the purchase on February 6, 2017. The car was dropped off on February 12, 2017 in San Antonio TX; it has been at Alamo Toyota for 3 weeks from February 13, 2017 thru March 6, 2017 and the car was not fixed due to a very expensive part that we could not pay for. As per Mr. Godern from the service department at the Alamo Toyota; he said that this car had previously mechanically issues and that the car had not been serviced for 2 years at any dealership according to the car fax. As per the diagnosed that was performed at the Toyota dealership, this

car needed a very expensive part in order for the car to change gears, and the part he mentioned has a cost of $4000.00. I paid $542.59 for the diagnosed, the battery and the towing to the Toyota dealership there in San Antonio TX, and I still have to pay more money to bring the car to McAllen TX and to fix the car. I spoke to Keith numerous times that we were not satisfied with the purchase because he promised that the car was in excellent running condition and there was nothing wrong with the car when he purchased it from the auction. Keith also mention to me that the car was not serviced by any mechanic or a service dealership because he checked the oil and drove it for a few miles and the car was

great. The car was only driven 6 miles and Keith said that the car was in excellent condition. I sent this email to Jean-Lou Ferrigno suppossively the manager, because they wanted a letter saying that I was not satisfied with the purchase so they could refund $500.00 back to my PayPal account for the money I spent at the Alamo Toyota in San Antonio and then Keith changes everything around and now he wants a letter saying that I need to state that after receiving a $500 rebate from Choice auto brokers I will be completely satisfied with the transaction and the sale will be final. I will handle and further restoration expenses on my own as I see fit. So I wrote him back saying I will put there that I'm satisfied with the amount

and I will do the rest of the repair on my own, but I can not put there that I'm satisfied with the sale or the purchase because the car is not in the condition that Keith told us that it was, so I'm sorry but that's all I can put on the letter, now if you don't want to issue the credit that's fine, but I'm not going to lie on something you guys want me to lie. I'm sorry but I'm not a liar.. Keith asked for the receipt only and then he turns around and demands a letter saying I'm satisfied with the purchase and I'm sorry but I can not do that.. I have not heard anything from them after this message and just yesterday the mechanic who is working on the car here in McAllen TX told me that the transmission had no oil and I just hope that the transmission is not broken... I don't understand how people can be so cruel to other people that trusted them. I just hope someone can help me, so these thiefs and liars don't get away with this anymore and finally put a stop to them.

Lies all lies

The only truth about this rebuttal is the car fax and the car fax shoewed that this car had not been serviced for 2 years at a Toyota dealership, so what does that tell you that this people don't even service their cars and are just stealing money from customers who trusted them and if you do the math you already have 7 bad reports against you.. Another lie here is that the car was not driven an hour and I can prove that with the speedometer on the car so you can really see how many miles I drove this car and that's besides the point even if the car was driven an hour, Keith lie to us when he said that the car was in excellent driving condition, but if you ask him he only drove it for 6 miles and check the motor oil and said the car was great. Another lie he did not talk to Gorden that many times because Keith told me every time I asked him if he spoke to Gorden that he couldn't get through the line so if he spoke to him it probably was only 2 or 3 times at the most and Mr Gorden has worked at the Toyota dealership for more than 30 years. And another lie the letter they wanted me to write to them was that I was satisfied with the purchase and I told him I was not satisfied and I also have proof of that in the email they sent me. Why would I report Toyota if they were only trying to help me and plus they did not sell me the car. Another thing about the other toyota that we had, with the problem that this one is having, just found out is not the same problem.. the car is still at the mechanic and we are more than $8000.00 out of our pocket because of a bad deal we made with Choice Auto Brokers, the worst deal and trusting a sales person we've ever made.. Mama always said never trust a sales person and especially the auto sales, mama was right I should of listen. If Keith really wanted to refund the $500.00 without any letter just the way he told me in the beginning all I need is the receipt that you pay the Toyota and that's it, but then he turns around and wants a letter that I'm satisfied with the purchase.. to me they were never going to refund any monies to me, because if they wanted to do it they would of done it without any letter by trusting me just like I trusted them.

When the Car arrived in Texas they drove the Car at Highway speeds for just under an hour when they claim it shut down from a dead battery. They made the decision to bring it to a local toyota dealer for a New Battery. While the car was at Toyota they said the car all of a sudden has other problems. I asked the customer to give me the name and number of the service advisor so I could speak to him directly. I spoke to Gordon and he said that was the first MR2 to come into their service department in 7 or 8 years. The technition assigend to the car was very young and had only been with them for 2 years. He also said no one on staff was really to familar with working on this model.

I worked for Toyota for 15 Years and I have a best friend who is a service Manager of a Toyota store in New England so I reached out to him and his Master Technition with over 25 years of Toyota Service Experience. After I spoke to Gordon at the Toyota dealer in Texas at least 10 to 12 times and my contacts up in New England about 8 to 10 times I found a Toyota Mr2 site on the internet where people would help each other diagnose certatin common problems on there cars and share the fix secrets they collectivley discovered.

The most common fix for the shifting on the car was to change and flush the transmission oil every 4 or 5 years. I asked Gordon if they did this and he said Yes. The customer claims there was no transmission oil well how could that be possible if it just spent all this time in a Certified Toyota Service Department?  Obviously they didnt even check the transmission fluid level let alone flush and change it. The Toyota dealership said it needed a $4,000 part but they didnt even flush and change the transmission oil. I asked Gordon what if the $4,000 part didnt fix the problem he said he would have to talk to his manager at that point but we may still be responsioble for the cost.

I was getting as frustrated as the customer at this point. I was calling this Toyota Dealer dailey and searching MR 2 sites at night trying to educate myself enough to best trouble shoot this situtaion without my customer wasting $4,000 on a part that might not even be needed.

I asked the customer if they had a garage in their home town that they trusted. They said yes. They even said they owned the same exact type of car years ago and they had the same exact problem and it was fixed easily at a repair shop they new.  I said great, send it there and lets get some honest help. I offered to give the customer $500 to cover the repairs and expenses they had at the Toyota Store. I did ask them to send me an email that they would be satisfied with my efforts and the $500 rebate and that any other reapirs would be at their expense.

I think the Ripp Off Report should have been filed against Alamo Toyota for their below Par Service and the not the small mom an pop dealership that was really tring to help.
