I was originally contacted by this company online and against my better judgement, I called the company and signed up.  I had been thinking of getting a home warranty for some time, and thought this was a good of time as any.  After having the policy for about 2 months, the heating element went out on my stove.  I called the company and they had someone come out the next day and repair it.  I thought I had actually made a good choice.  However, about 4 months later, I was contacted by the company that repaired the stove and they told me they had never been paid.  They stated they had tried several times to get Choice Home Warranty to pay them, but had no luck and asked if I would contact them on their behalf.  I contacted Choice and was told the claim had been approved and they would make sure payment would be issued.  Not sure if the company ever got paid or not, as they never contacted me again.  I then decided to go online and read the reviews about this company and was shocked to find so many complaints.  I had already paid for a two year policy, so I just hoped for the best.  Well, it has happend to me now.  I called choice last week because my a/c was not cooling properly.  They had a company called A/C Service by Tracey called me and schedule an appointment to come out three days later.  When the technician showed up, he told me their was no freon in my unit at all and if he were to put some, it would only leak out because obviously there was a leak somewhere.  He told me Choice Home Warranty does not cover the cost of checking the system to see where the leak is and if I wanted him to do that, it would be 250.00.  I told him to go ahead because I needed the unit repaired.  After checking the unit for a leak, he took the payment, wrote a receipt and told me the company would get back with me. I found this strange because he should have known what the warranty covered and either fixed it or asked me if I wanted to pay him to fix it.  Anyway, I was contacted via email by Choice Home Warranty that Saturday asking that I contact them immediately.  I called their office on Monday and was told what so many have stated they were told, my repair is not covered due to lack of maintenance.  He stated the repair person told him my coils were dirty, which means I was not maintaining my system.  I informed the young man that my unit is serviced yearly, but just go ahead and cancel the policy.  I realize the company is a scam and they do not plan on repairing anything.  They feel they can use the line "lack of maintenance" and it gives them a clear out on honoring your warranty.  I realize they got me, I accept it and I can't even be mad because my gut instinct was not to sign with them and I did it anyway.  They are a rip off, scam, fraud company and buyers please be ware......
