I was directed to this web-site by Publishers Clearinghouse when I was using their search engine as part of a raffle contest (I know, I know, but someone has to win and they do have inexpensive magazines.)

I am going through the hardest time of my life.  I won't go into details, but I am in trouble in every way you can imagine.  So I'm playing this Publishers Clearinghouse contest, and searched "God help me."  The very first website that came up (which means they have a sponsorship deal with PCH) was Christian Prayer Center.  It looked legit, and so I poured my guts out on the "prayer request" form, spending 30 minutes composing a desperate cry for help.

I finished it, and clicked "Submit," ready to have people pray for me, and to pray for other people.  A new page came up and said, "Please choose your donation to the Prayer Christian Center," or something along those lines.  It started at $9 and went up to $50 or $100.  There was no way to navigate past this page, or to say "I don't have a dime to spare, that's why I need people to pray for me!"

In short, this is one of the most diabolical, heartless scams I've ever seen.  Worse than selling tap water labeled at water from Lourdes.  Even worse than teleevangelists - at least you get a sermon, prayers, and songs between their pleas for your money.

I felt so disgusted by myself and stupid for having poured out my guts on this anonymous website that had completely fooled me.  The idea that some slimeball scumbag coward - who does not put his name or any other name on the website - would get even one person to shell out $9 for something as sacred as PRAYER fills me with despair.  I felt bad when I went to their Prayer Center, and felt even worse after I left.

Whoever profits from this website is pure evil.  I have sent an email to PCH warning them about their association with this group.

PS:  If a prayer circle is popular and gets a lot of hits, has heavy bandwidth fees, and someone has to spend a lot of time monitoring the activity, then I see no problem with a website asking for a donation AFTER the prayer request is posted.
