Our 2008 Dodge 5500 was purchased in March 09'. We purchased a Chrysler Service contract which covered the truck for 2 yrs unlimited miles. In Feb 10' the engine had a mechanical failure. We took the truck into the local dealership where we had originally purchased the truck. They cam to the conclusion that a new Diesel engine was required as it had internal failure. Chrysler approved the repair ($19,200). It took 3 weeks to have the new engine installed. Three weeks & 10,000 miles later the new engine lost oil pressure and through the #5 rod in the new motor. We had the truck towed back from MT to AZ so the original dealership could look at the engine. Upon review the dealership called Chrysler to inform them that the new engine needed to be replaced with another new engine. This time Chrysler came out to look @ the truck. They informed the Dealership and myself that they weren't going to warranty the engine. Not only did we still have a Service Contract which would have covered this but the new Engine comes with a 100,000 mile warranty. We have filed complaints with the BBB of Detroit as well as a civil lawsuit in AZ superior court. They basically are looking at this from a financial standpoint. We paid $3300 for a Service Contract and they already paid out $20,000 for the initial repair and are looking at an additional $20,000 to warranty out this motor. Over the years my company has purchased over 10 Dodge Diesel trucks. We will never purchase another Chrysler product!
