Back in March of this year (2006) I went to freecreditreport.com out of curiousity of my credit rating. After entering all the information requested, I was told that my "identity could not be found".

I was skeptical of this and emailed them immediately to cancel my free credit report. To make a long story short, I received no response from them and my credit card kept getting charged for $12.00 every month.

At the end of July I sent them a letter requesting cancellation of my "account" and demanded an immediate refund. AGAIN, no response from the company. I contacted the bank and the credit card company and was told that I needed to "take it up with the company" ..that there wasn't anything they could do.

Finally now in October I called the company demanding some action! I threatened a lawsuit and told them that I was reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. After being put on hold for 10 minutes, the operator came back on and said that she was only authorized to refund 1 month of my membership. I insisted that I never should have been charged in the first place.
She told me she could place the remainder of the $108.00 that I had been charged so far into "escalated review". I asked her what that meant, and she told me that the "situation" would be turned over to her supervisor for review, and that they would contact me withing five business days. YEAH RIGHT! I am not holding my breath!! Please beware of this company!! I would be very willing to join in with the thousands of people that have been scammed by this company and file a class-action lawsuit!

They need to not only reimburse all of us, but pay damages as well, and MOSTLY we need to get them out of business to protect the potentially thousands more they are scamming!!
