We have had this interner provider for almost 3 years now. The first year was great. Everything worked perfect. Then a little over 6 months ago we started noticing issues with our net after 5pm. Called to have it fixed until we were blue in the face. The wireless router ended up being replaced twice and the problem was still never fixed. They want their money and take it. Yet they do not fix anything. Their internet tech's are not trained. They do not understand basic English after 5pm because all calls are shipped over seas.

For 6 months we have been told they were working on our lines and it would be fixed in a week or two. It's to the point where I am saving up to pay the huge deposit (Well over 250 since I have no credit)  for another company just to get basic internet. We were told we would get a speed of 5mb per second, and we are only getting 728kb per second on a good day. Paying 50$ a month for service that is worse than dial up. There have been a total of 10 calls in the last 2 months about this issue and we are getting no where. I would advise everyone to stay away from this internet provider, they take your money and do not care about their customers!

Fixed

I actually didn't have cable. I had a cell phone provider thinking they knew how to do internet service. The wires were changed out and everything. After I switched to Cable net because Cincinati Bell was not fixing the problem I have not had an issue. My net is never slow or drags.

Final Update

AUTHOR: Brandie - ()

After fighting with them for months we cancled service. There was no point in going back and forth with this company. We were told they had a new fiber line they could put in, however that would cost us almost 1000$ to do and that is if we were approved for it. We switched back to TWC and have had no issues what so ever. I would NEVER tell anyone to use this company. The amount I paid for their crappy service was the same amount I pay now for TWC.

Cable may be the problem

AUTHOR: Lorenzo D. Magnificent - ()

POSTED: Saturday, November 30, 2013

I live in Phoenix and had a similar problem with my cable internet provider. At times all was well and good then in the evenings things started to go downhill. This all started in late May, similar to the time frame of this report. Like the OP, my problems always began late in the day.

They sent out a technician after I blew a gasket on the phone.  What the technician found was that the previous owner of my home had wired the house with what he described as "Wal-Mart quality cable."  The cable ran through the attic and the technician said that the cheap cable loses its capacity as it gets warmer.  I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical of this but all he did was replace the crappy cable with his company's regular cable (at no charge) and I have had no problems at all since then. My problems began when the weather got hot and were at their worst at the end of the day when the attic reached its hottest temperatures.

You might want to check the quality of the cable if the provider did not install it.

In the past I have also had problems with signal splitters, too. I have none on my current installation but once again I would be suspicious of any discount store equipment, especially if it runs through a hot attic.

I hope this helps someone avoid more frustration.

I have been dealing with the same issue for over 18 months now.  I've been down the new router route and it failed too.  I have filed complaints with the BBB and the Ohio Attorney General and got nowhere.  I have several speed tests to back up my complaint.  I've been keeping a record of outages too.  Their defense to the AG was that we are on the fringe and our speed is not guaranteed.  Why should we pay the same as those close to Cincinnati Bell for service that is far below what they're getting?  I'll be filing my own ripoff report.  Hopefully there is a class action brewing out there somewhere.

Update!!

AUTHOR: Brandie - ()

POSTED: Monday, May 20, 2013

This is going no where. I have been on the phone with this company for over a week now, and still have got nothing more than a ticket number. I guess my next step is to file a formal complaint. When I last spoke with them on 5/18/2013 I was told I would need to call back and talk to coustomer service on Monday 5/20/2013. Well that department is only available if you are transfered into it. I was sent to tech support with someone who told me that my MAIN phone number on the account is no longer the phone number on it. Gave them the ticket number AGAIN and now they can't find my account still.. Had to give them my address. I have been placed on hold a 6 times in the last 20 minuits. I am not sure who runs this company but I am beyond fed up. I am now waisting my time going from one rep to another just to be sent back to the same supervisor who will do NOTHING to fix this issue. I will be filing with BBB and then the State. I have spent more time trying to fix this than to actually be online. They offered to take a whole $5 off my bill. Oh isn't that nice of them? But I never did speak with someone in customer service. so lets see.. there are at least 30 days in a month, so there are at least 30 NIGHTS that I can not be online because of congestion.. yes I was told that is still the issue in my area. Yet.. people that use other services do not have this issue.
