circuit city sold me a 5 year extended warranty on a sawx700 powered subwoofer through cityadvantage protection plan,the subwoofer died with still one year left of my warranty but now that circuit city is out of business,i have no way to get in contact with anyone concerning my coverage on this item.

The extended protection plans sold at Circuit City are handled through another company. That company is, thankfully, still alive and kicking and honoring the plans sold at Circuit City.
Hit up (((Redacted)))or call 1-800-555-4615. They do a good job and both the online chat and phone support have a lot of good people to talk to.
