Circuit City, City Advantage A ripoff of Money and Time as we try to get our laptop fixed Burnsville Minnesota
*UPDATE EX-employee responds: What to do next ..you can get a refund on the extended warranty
We have been atempting for months to get our laptop repaired.
We were told that if we got the insurance and if we had problems with our computer we would get a box to ship it out for repairs.
We did that once and it came back in the same condition it left in--BROKE.
Now we get to talk to someone in India who says he doesn't know what to do and maybe we should go on line and look for Circuit City.
What the heck did we pay for???

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
What to do next ..you can get a refund on the extended warranty

OK, the extended warranty people aren't in India, yet. They are in Dallas.
A little more info would be helpful. Did the repair depot claim they couldn't duplicate the problem? I used to hear that one about once a month. Anyway....
Go to the MANAGER of the Cicuit City store and demand that it get fixed. If that doesn't work, file a small claims suit. I would call the extended warranty people, get the Consumer Relations fax number (you will not get a regular phone number) and tell them you want it fixed or you are going to file a small claims suit. At that point I would expect them to buckle like a belt. They do not want to be paying a lawyer to go to the Rice County courthouse. And if they don't show up, you win. A small claims suit will cost you very little.
Also, you can get a refund on the extended warranty. It's pro-rated based on how much time is left. Just call the extended warranty number and ask them how, they will tell you. (just don't do it until AFTER the laptop is fixed!!!)
