Hello,

I purchased a $3100 television from my local Circuit City (Olympia, WA), which is damaged. There is a problem with both the picture and the sound. Because the TV is so big, it does not fit in my car and I had to find someone with a vehicle large enough to get it home.

Obviously I was not too happy to find that it was damaged once I set it up.

I called my local Circuit City to schedule an exchange where they would pick up my TV and bring me a new one. The problem is, they are unwilling to work with me on a time. I am away on work much of the week, and the only days I am available for something like this (without missing time - and pay - from work) are Tuesday and Wednesday. It just so happens that Tues and Wed are the ONLY days that my local Circuit City wont do a delivery.

So now I am stuck with a TV that does not work and no way to get it back to the store myself. I LITERALLY live less than THREE MINUTES AWAY from the store, and yet they can't find anyone - including the store manager - who is willing to simply drive the TV to my home three minutes away from the store tomorrow (Wednesday).

Of course, it was easy for them to be as helpful when they could when I was ready to spend over $3000 on a television set (although the cashier couldn't ring the sale up right, forcing me to leave and call the store with the correct amount when I got home. I then had to drive BACK to the store to complete my purchase).

This is the absolute most atrocious experience I have ever had in a retail store.

Circuit City Stores use local delivery companies to deliver their products. They do not dictate the days in which the delivery teams can be in a certain area. Secondly, I have completed returns at three times the price you have paid for your TV (50" Hitachi plsma screens, 61" RCA DLP screens, etc...). What is the damage to the TV? If you bought it brand new perhaps there was damage when you arranged to have it transported in your friend's vehicle? They will allow you 30 days to return the TV, if you would have had it delivered they would have come and picked it right back up and did a refund. There seems to be holes in your story. Why was it such an "atrocious" shopping experience because you're too busy to bring the TV back to the store?
