This was the third time I called citi to get a refund for a charge that they put on my account. The first two times I called, the girls told me it would be credited back to my account and any related fees would be waived. It never happened.

So I called a third time and this guy Ivan was looking at my account. He says there is no record of me asking for the money back and says it was my fault for not calling sooner so he can't give me anything back. I try to reason with him and tell him, it has to be a mistake because I've been a customer for three years and it's the first time my payment didn't go though. He keeps repeating that it's not their fault and he won't refund anything.

When I ask him "are you sure you can't?" he gets defensive and starts yelling at me for asking him that. Then he says, would you like to talk to my supervisor? So I say ok. He puts me on hold for a few seconds, then starts yelling at me again saying "Next time you call, you better not ask me to get my supervisor because I'm not supposed to transfer you for these kinds of things...!" I wasn't going to deal with that so I hang up.

I am going to switch back to Wells Fargo, which I was banking with for 6 years and never had a problem with them. Citi had better interest rates but they have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS. They lie and yell at you if you ask them questions they can't answer. And they try to send you $5 gift certificates that expire in less than a month if they think you'll switch banks.
