This one is gold. To all who have accounts with Citi please be ware. We have an auto loan through CitiFinancial Auto and have a monthly payment of about 350 dollars. Well we paid in November and the amount was withdrawn with their name on the transaction. Come two weeks ago we get a call from them saying they never received the payment.

Well i researched on our banking website and sure enough there it was. The amount for the payment and their digital information. The one funny thing was is that i sent a check and normally if i do that there is a copy of the check that i can visually see but it wasn't there. So we called CitiAuto back and wouldn't you know it they can't find any record of us paying it. I told the lady I was looking at it as we spoke. Now i understand they cant take my word for the it and that was fine so we called our bank and THEY faxed over the transaction information.

Well CitiAuto said they never got it and they said they still can not find any record of payments. Guess what came next....threats to our credit report, additional fees, you know the same old stuff they probably threaten everyone with. We resend the information along with a copy of the check that the bank had. My wife talks to a girl who gets into an argument with her own people saying that we had made the payment and they still said that wasn't going to suffice! The girl we spoke to couldn't believe it either and she works there! Who cares i know i am in the right so we continue to cooperate but are starting to get annoyed with them pretty much calling us liars so we contact our bank yet again.

Well it turns out that every transaction made is assigned a code and along with that code is the code of the financial institution withdrawing money. We sent them that info, a copy of the check, bank records and a less than tactful note telling them that the next time they call they had better be more then well prepared to argue with us if they cant figure this thing out because i am through being nice.
