I am VERY unhappy about doing business with Citibank Mortgage and will try to get this transferred out of your control.
This is why:
1.We (the homeowners) applied for an online offer to get equity line of credit. We owe approx 123k on a value of over 250k. WE (the homeowners) are two single women who have been friends for almost 40 years and make a decent living. We live in different states, but own property together. The one line application directed to me via e-mail personally, spoke of a simple on-line application process, and requested some documents. The application appeared to be from the company we currently had our mortgage with and whom we had felt provided good service. Additionally the application states that someone would call us within 48 hours. That call never came.

2.We waited 2 weeks, then called them. Much to our dismay, the call receivers did not speak English as a first, second or third language, and read from a script. They were not able to answer our questions, and we were not able to figure out what was wanted.The several individuals we attempted to speak with did not speak English well enough to provide more than answering the phone.

3.The process has been a nightmare, with constant borage of additional requests made by phone or mail. Then they request that we fax everything to them. After we do that then they request even more, and mostly un-related to the transaction at hand. I am at work from 7 am until 5 pm daily and not able to run to a fax every night (I do live in the rural area) then they still ask for more.

4.This was a simple on line application, yet Citibank cannot even receive emailed documents scanned into the computer. Now hear this: I scan them in to send to another location in order that someone else can fax them to they bank. How ridiculous is that? Now, several weeks (about 6) after the ORIGINAL application filled out on line) I am told I need to provide a divorce document from a divorce that happened years ago, and that the ex husband signed away any interest he has on this property years ago, during the divorce! His name never was on this property at all!

4.Additionally the co applicant is the CO owner of the property! Now, I would need to take a day off of work, drive to the county in which the divorce occurred to try and get a copy of a decree from several years ago (6-7??) If this is the level of customer service provided for the existing loan, then I am very disappointed.
I have not yet had a positive experience with Citibank, and this is again evident of such a lack of ability to manage as ever seen, and worse than any organization I have contacted. The service and experience with the previous loan holder Abn-Amro was exceptionally good, and this is a tremendous let down. I will let Citibank handle the first very low interest mortgage, and I will insure that is VERY expensive for them to manage it.

Now this is either a bait and switch type of process, or perhaps prejudicial against single women purchasing property, and I intend to share this experience in my on line BAD Business Bureau blog, ripoffreports plus!!
Now, we are still loan-less, they have ruined our credit with the constant borage of hits they made on our reports, and I personally, am fed up with them enough to want to do something stupid.
