While recently searching for my name on Google due to a job search query, the top link listed show of picture of me in a mugshot which occurred a year ago.  After contacting the site to determine how to remove this information from the site, I was sent a link to a pay site which requested $68 to remove my mugshot in 8-10 days or $108 to have mughsot removed in 1 business day.  In addition, my mugshot was featuring advertisement and profiting from my image without prior consent.

Welcome to the information age

AUTHOR: Lisa Garnette - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, May 13, 2012

The operation mugshot sites are likely protected by the First Amendment, since the information contained on the site is public records. Mugshot sites will often charge to unpublish material from their site, and they have the right to do so. While this practice upsets those affected, it is again legal since the sites can make decisions as to which mugshots to include, and which to unpublish. Unpublishing is a major issue in the  publishing world and it doesn't start or end with one site or another (Google "Unpublish" or "Unpublishing"). This is simply the cost of living in the Information Age, when public information is readily available.

Star Nine Ventures Owns Citizens Information Associates

AUTHOR: Stop Star Nine Ventures - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Don't forget to thank Star Nine Ventures. Star Nine bought Mugly Media and this merger created Citizen Information Associates.

Here is the ripoff report that proves this fact. Here are the signatures of Ryan Russell, CEO of Star Nine, along with Kyle Prall, founder of the dissolved mugly media/kgp media.

This Fort Worth Weekly news article pretty much sums it up

Why would someone pay Star Nine to help his/her business gain favorable ranking on google search results when you or I could google search "Star Nine Ventures LLC" and see them featured in an article titled "An Ugly Business?" Star Nine is foolish to think that by ignoring this situation they can overcome it.

"Reputation management reimagined" is a laughable little slogan for Star Nine to come up with considering they neglect their own reputation.
