I am writing this  as I truly feel that I have been shaken down by this firm and that I did not receive the service that I
was quoted.  I had no choice but to pay the amount collected as I would otherwise have had risked my cargo.  But I am extremely frustrated by not only the exorbitant prices charged for the boxes (that had been promised would be free) but in addition the fact that proper boxing was not used for the TV resulting in it's screen being broken. I  put a good deal of effort in trying to relay this properly to the company,  in the hopes that your firm realize the wrong doing.

Here are the facts:
-   The person who came out to do the quote told me that he founded the company (after he retired from the police) and that I should call him if anything should come up. He wrote his name (James) and number (347.386.2422) on the Probable Cost of Services receipt that he left with me.  He also wrote the office number (347.326.7611).
He told me that the movers would bring boxes free of charge and wrote this on the Probable Cost of Services receipt
He specifically told me not to worry about boxes, that these would be free.  He also wrote "free boxes (20), TV Box and 5 Wardrobes on the receipt".  He furthermore told me that I should call his cell if I had
any issues.

-  I did not have the Probable Cost of Services document handy when dealing with the moving crew, post move, but they billed me for a TV Box as well as the wardrobes and boxes.  Furthermore, there was no TV Box provided.  The mover packed the TV in a couple of blankets and taped cardboard around it.  This is in no way a replacement
for a proper TV box since it does not put any free space in front of the screen as would be the case with a TV box. Taping cardboard around  blankets (which were provided free of charge for the move - as confirmed
by the movers themselves) is not a $25 box, which I was billed for.  Obviously this resulted in the cracked TV.  As for the wardrobe boxes, they brought in used wardrobe boxes that they took back with them so it is ridiculous to sell these to me for $114.  And by the way, they only used 4 or 5 of these and billed about $25 each (not the amount they
listed).  Finally, other than two mattress bags, there was no heavy duty Nylon provided.  There was wrapping plastic, but rolls of that are cheap and cost you just a few dollars to purchase.

-  I have requested numerously to speak to James to clear up this issue with the free boxes, and hoping that as the owner of the firm and seemingly a standup guy, to review the billing and treatment of my cargo.  However, he is not picking up his phone and is not returning my messages that I left with the office personnel.  It seems that I should have at least beee able to speak to him to clear this up. For him not to get back to me or answer his phone was quite telling.

I realize full well that there was more work required than James had quoted.  However, I believed strongly that I was
scammed into overpaying for the boxes (blackmailed since I would not seemy cargo without paying the outrageous amount).  And of course, there was no TV Box provided, which resulted in the damage. The insurance only covers 30 cents per pound, however, I felt  that since they did not provide a proper TV box to pack the TV, the firm is at fault here.

To summarize, the firm charged me $300 for boxes that were not provided, and I was promised would be free.  The lack of proper packing also resulted in the loss of my $1500 TV.

Considering the damage I sustained and the abusive charges for the boxes, I feel that this is a very modest and fair request that the tv should have been paid for.  I was hoping that they would agree and that I hear back from you, but that never happened  I feel that I have shown restraint and fairness throughout this process but now i needed to get the better business and dept of transportation involved
