citygrid citygrid media infalted billed traffic stats by 20x Internet

Citygrid will charge you $3600/year for worthless traffic to hit your ad/site.

If you actually get any real customers, that is extra cost!

Citygrid aims to be the dashboard for businesses to enhance their citysearch.com profile and to run pay per click ads on citysearch and affiliated websites.  Its part of a growing search engine trend called local search search engine users and search engine results that are geographically close.

Against my instincts, I agreed to let citygrid salesperson Keith Beverly run a one month trial of the service.  Keith promised that this service was a no brainer since you only pay when the ad actually performs.  I reasoned that I am a one man shop and I get so little traffic it couldnt cost more than a few dollars for 30 days.

Heres the sordid details

Notice city grid reports 40 clicks to website and my google stats show 2 hits from city search.  All the other traffic that you see on the google stats is advertising I already do (facebook, newscow, google places, google ad words).

So citygrid is inflating their billed traffic numbers by a mere factor of 20!

I asked my rep to explain the discrepancy and he explained that city grid blasts your information out to here, there, and everywhere, but they cant really provide any specifics.  They could not tell me a single site besides citysearch that my info or ads definitely appeared on.  The pie chart above is all they can see!  Remember that this is supposed to be local search see the 2 hits I got from google.co.uk, citygrid must advertise on some cheap irrelevant sites to get clicks they can bill you for.

Of course, they bill your CC and refuse to return emails or calls.  This is a text book scam.

Im fighting it and will post the outcome.  I just hope that I can save other people some aggravation and money!
