In June of 2012 I went to CJ's Car America in search of a reliable vehicle. This was also during a time when I was having credit problems. I went to test drive a few vehicles and "run some numbers" when I decided on purchasing a 2006 Ford Fusion SE. I requested a copy of the car fax report to make sure I was getting a fair price for my vehicle. The report that was e-mailed to me by the salesman showed that the vehicle had no accidents and no water or fire damage and that it was only a one owner vehicle from a local nearby town, which made me feel better about the purchase. The issues started on day one. I was supposed to pick up the car after work and received a phone call that there was a check engine light on and they would need at least an additional day to get that taken care of.... a small price to pay for a fully functioning and safe vehicle. 2 days later when i went to pick it up at the Bridgeport location everything seemed "mechanically" sound The only downside was that the gas light was on and the dash said "10 miles to empty"... again ok no big deal I stopped at the nearest gas station no more than 2 miles away. Day #2 after being in posession of the vehicle the check engine light came back on. I called the dealership and they had me bring it back in. After speaking with the tech I left it there over night so they could replace an air pump. day #7 and the light was on again and it was the same code as before, only this time when I would start the car it would stall as soon as I put it into gear. this repeated 4 more times during the first 6 months of having the fusion. In March of 2013 after no sort of resolution and increase in the stalling of the engine to approx. 3 times a week Kevin and Chris (the owner) made an agreement with me to take my vehicle to a Ford dealership and finally after months of the affected part being on back order the car was fixed just in time for it to be inspected in June of 2013. Now in July of 2013 I have my credit problems fixed and am finally ready to get a newer vehicle at a lower interest rate so I look into trading in the fusion only to find out that the employees at CJ's Car america had really pulled a blinder over my eyes. The dealership I went to took the VIN number for my car and ran (in two minutes) what is known as an auto check report. That report shows 2 collisions which diminished the value of the vehicle by over 50%. Luckily I keep all of my e-mails and was able to make contact with Chris the owner to let him know what had happened. I was sold the Vehicle for $9,999 in 2012 and in 2013 still owe $8400 due to the high interest rate. At the time of purchase the vehicle was worth no more than $5000 and that is on the high end of the scale. After talking with the owner he stood by the fact that he had no way of knowing that there were any collisions on the vehicle and that they run no sort of reporting on cars that they sell. I now do not understnd why a false carfax report was presented to me. There are all sorts of shady sales practices that I have highlighted here and it really is too bad that I can not give a better review for a company that markets itself to people having credit problems. I do not recommend anyone putting their trust or their hard earned money into this business. Becasue lets face it I dont know many people who can afford to throw away that much cash. To this day my claims have been ignored and no resolution has been had. It looks to be that my next step is to take them to small claims court which is unfortunate but it is a step I am willing to take in order to recoup the losses that have been afforded to me because of CJ's Car america. BEWARE! No one should be put through the ringer this way.

I do have all of the proof as I have kept all of the original documentation that was given to me from the salseman. Nor would I ever default on a loan to prove a point that would be childish. But thank you for your input. I am already consulting a lawyer for this matter so I am taking my chances either way.

Im sorry to say this but you probably wont have a leg to stand on in small claims court. Mainly because in order to get the vehicle, you would have had to sign a contract with the dealership. In one of the MANY times you had to initail or sign you would have signed a "AS IS" paper. This protects both the consumer and seller as it clearly outlines that the vehicle is used and you are accepting it as is. The second problem you are going to run into is that you signed a contract with the dealership for that price. It is a common practice that consumers will get their credit in order then attempt to default on a contract or loan. Useing whatever reasoning or justification the consumer feels gets them their way.

As the contracts that you signed are created and updated by Lawyers, there is very little chance that after a year of ownership you will find ANY wiggle room. You can CLAIM all you like, but all a judge is going to see is your signature on a contract. You can attempt to prove that you were fleeced, but unless you have hard proof of it the judge will probably dismiss the case and force you to pay the legal fees. Unless you have the car fax report with the date on it and video of the person you accused handing it to you, or fingerprints on the paper with coresponding police dept worthy prints. Then its your word against theirs.
