This company will come to you offering a free roof for your home. These evil people are scammers and will stop at nothing to get money out of you. They will try to scam your insurance company, who will in turn raise your rates and give you resistance when you need to file a real claim.

If there is any problem CSI will hound you for money, badger you and your relatives over the phone, and even try to take you to court for more money. They have screwed my family over and now we are stuck with out a roof and have to deal with these evil people until my lawyer counter sues.

My advice is to stay far away from this evil business and report them for anything to the BBB. They use their "paid for" standing with the BBB as grounds for their legitimacy. Don't believe the hype.

Claim Specialists is out Of Business

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Geez, what a giant mess these people have caused homeowners. They have made the news on two Denver TV stations, KMGH and KDVR.

Tom Martino the Toubleshooter asked Glenn Jessen (an owner) what happened to the money that people gave him. He had the nerve to say he didn't have access to bank accounts. Ok, an owner of the company doesn't have access to the money. Sure we believe that right?

Melissa King (another owner) was interviewed and was asked what happened to the money that CSI was supposed to use to put roofs onto peoples houses. She started to cry and said she didn't know. She has started another roof company called K-2 Roofing and said that she is using the money from those jobs to pay for the roughly 250 people screwed out of their roof. (Not a great way to bank roll a new business) Isn't that how CSI got into trouble in the first place? robbing from Peter to pay Paul typically is not good business practices.

My guess is that since these people were using insurance checks and not putting on roofs there could be serious charges coming their way for possible insurance fraud.

Hopefully they will have to account for the missing money in front of a judge sometime in the future.

I really feel bad for all the people that got ripped off. Most of these people don't have the money to go out of pocket to put on a new roof and are left holding the bag.

CSI is all but shut down

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 12, 2009

Claim Specialists is almost out of business. They apparently went on a firing spree this morning. Just about all of their sales people are gone and the ones with any integrity have long hit the road.

It's time for customers of claim specialists to file complaints to the Colorado AG. Alert the media and send them packing. It's unfortunate that there will be many consumers who willingly gave first checks from their insurance company to them, expecting to get a roof on their house. I would bet it ain't gonna happen.

You would think that the owners of this ripoff company could face potential charges for insurance fraud. They took insurance checks and haven't installed a lot of roofs.

Unfortunately one of their owners, who was a main figure behind the ripoff was cut loose for potential theft from the company coffers, is starting for or going to work for another roofing company. Watch out for Glenn Jessen. I don't know if his cell phone still works or not but give it a try and let him know what a scumbag he is. His cell phone is 720-364-5685.

Time to alert the Denver Media and put the final nail into the CSI coffin.

Post the correction. I can't find it.

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 24, 2008

Where's the link you are talking about. This correction you mention.

Also the posts from former employees are all wrong, on the KRDO Website?

So if CSI went out of business today all your customers all have roofs installed. Right? or will they all be out large amounts of money waiting for the shingle shortage (that doesn't exist) to end.

I think Claim Specialists have given the roofing industry an even bigger black eye than what it had already. I'm sure you have some customers who would vouch for you on your behalf but what about the many others who might be frustrated with their experience with Claim Specialists.

I do hope that CSI takes care of their customers so that nobody gets ripped off. I'm sure there are some good people who are employed by them that would be hurt if they went out of business.

Hopefully you'll get your BBB membership back. Maybe the owner of Claim Specialists can get on the preferred Tom Martino list. At least there's one employee (above) who thinks they are a good company. Hopefully they are.

Ultimately the company runs from the top down. If they are shysters it will be a matter of time before the company fully implodes.

In response to the "News"

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 24, 2008

If you search their website for Claim Specialists International you will find the first link which says exactly thisNEWSCHANNEL 13 - We have a correction to a story we aired on Tuesday evening and placed on KRDO.com.

We reported that claim specialists international "C.S.I., was in trouble with Pikes Peak Regional building department", in fact at this time only allegations have been made, and the parties were engage in full settlement of the matter, there was never any court order, telling C.S.I., to stop doing business in Colorado Springs.

In addition, the reference that the State Attorney Generals office took legal action against claim specialists international was also not correct. We regret the error.

Yes that's right the news messed up and didn't investigate very well they made a good company look bad. At least they are apologizing for it. Claim Specialists is NOT under any kind of lawsuit or under investigation and we have NOT been told stop selling in Colorado Springs. This is because we ARE a reputable company. Also the Attorney General did NOT take legal action against Claim Specialists.

Claims Specialists is becoming famous. Many consumers could be in for a big rip-off

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 20, 2008

It seems as though this professional company hires teens to knock on peoples doors. (according to tv reports)

Apparently there are other government actions pending on Claim Specialists.

They made primetime in Colorado Springs. Next it'll be Denver then the AG's office will get it once again then CSI will be out of business. All those people who paid upfront money and waiting for roofs to get installed will be screwed. Hopefully some nice roofer
will be able to help all those people get a new roof on.

Very Sad.

Checked the BBB on Nov 5 2008

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 06, 2008

Claim Specialists has a less than stellar report from the BBB. Their membership was suspended on October 27th. The BBB says they have government action pending. (Check out the Denver BBB for yourself)

Claim Specialists also can be quite slow in putting on roofs once they get the money.

As with any contractor, make sure you get a completion date noted on your contract with them or they might somehow forget to put a roof on your house. Also any promises made by a company rep should be put in writing.

Many of their door to door salesmen, who inspect roofs for hail damage are not well trained in what is hail damage. If you have a badly worn roof that does not show evidence of storm damage, which you or Claim Specialists needs to prove to the insurance company, and your claim gets denied, you could very possibly get canceled by your insurance company until you pony up $thousands$ that you don't have, to replace your roof.

That is not looking out for the best interest of customers.

Outside of this Claim Specialists is probably a good company.

Not and evil company, out to help out homeowners...

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 29, 2008

I work with Claim Specialists and have for half a year now. This is the total opposite of a "bad" or "evil" company. We have been in business for almost 2 years now and have replaced numerous roofs. We don't "hound" people for money. The process is we help you file a claim with your insurance company, we go to the inspection with your roofing company to make sure they approve it if there is any hail damage, once your roof is approved we personally go to your house or work or you can come to our place of business to fill out your secondary contract which reassures you that you will pay nothing out of your pocket except your deductible, we also help you pick out you roof colors. We also let homeowners know that they don't have to pay their deductible until the roof is totally complete. We also have payment plans and referral programs where you can get a certain amount of money knocked off your deductible for every referral you send us that we can get approved. We not only help you get your roof replaced but if you have gutters that are damaged we help you get those approved for replacement or repair.
Our roofing companies we also work with are very reputable.

Please explain further

AUTHOR: Consumer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 15, 2008

I have been working with Claim Specialists International--they are quoting on doing my roof and do offer to work with my insurance company. They say nothing will cost me except my deductible--they just will have me pay the insurance deductible and the rest they will work out with my insurance company.

You are unclear on your exact situation--why are you having to pay anything and get lawyers involved if you did not ever get a new roof from them? What did they actually charge you for that makes you have to get lawyers involved? You say "if there is any problem they will hound you for money"--why did they hound you fo rmoney if they never did your roof? Why did they try to take you to court? How exactly did they "s*** you over"?

I have done extensive research on CSI--checked the internet (you are the only complaint about them on the internet), called many people on their referral list (they gave me a list in my area with over 30 contacts) that say they were 100% satisfied with both the work and the fact that they CSI did all of the work and filed all of the paperwork with the insurance companies. I truly believe that these references are all happy customers.

I checked BBB and they have an A- rating--mainly because they have only been listed since Sept. 2007. They have had one complaint, however BBB says it was resolved. You can't buy your way into BBB--they do have strict standards.

The BBB site says about them on the one complaint they did get (the only "bad" mark on their report):

says:
BBB processed a total of 1 complaint about this company in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period. Of the total of 1 complaint closed in 36 months, 1 was closed in the last year.
Billing or Collection Issues BBB Definition:
Billing or Collection Issues - Claim alleging billing errors, unauthorized charges, or questionable collection practices.
Resolved BBB Definition:
Resolved - The company resolved the complaint issues.
1 - Company addressed the complaint issues. The consumer failed to acknowledge acceptance to the BBB.

Maybe that complaint was from you?

Can you provide us with more information about why you are unsatisfied?
