Maid stole money and money clip from hotel room on Saturday morning, May 26, 2007. Management notified with no results. These items were left in the room in plain sight. The maid had the nerve to clean the room and take the money at the same time. There were no visitors to this room and and it was occupied by only one person. This problem was reported to the front desk and the maid came in and the first thing she said was " I aint no thief", before she was asked anything. Missing money was 380.00. No satisfaction was recieved. The money was not the most important thing, the money clip was, as it was from my given to my son-in-law from my dead daughter, his wife.

How about your responsibility in this?

It is generally common sense that one should not "leave money in plain site" when absent from a hotel room. This is why hotels offer personal safes and encourage patrons to not leave any valuables in the room. You made a poor decision, plain and simple. If the money clip was so important to you, then you should have kept it on your person, not carelessly left in open view in an empty hotel room. Considering that it is customary to leave cash tips for the maid, and that your cash was left in plain view, it is entirely possible that the maid considered it her tip and did not essentially "steal" it as you are accusing.
