In Dec of 2006,I purchased a transmission with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty from the AAMCO near my home. In July of this year my transmission failed. It spit out the front seal and torque converter bushing. Dumping 6 quarts of transmission fluid on the ground.I promptly brought in in to the AAMCO knowing it was covered under warranty. They agreed and I got into a rental.

I dropped of the rental and picked my truck up 10 days later (a 2001 Dodge Durango). I got half way home before it did the same thing again (I live 3 miles away btw)!

I brought the truck back the following day. At that time they informed me that they hadn't replaced the transmission. They had just taken it out and replaced the seal and bushing not taking into account that there was probably a reason for these parts to go out (Like the internals are shot) So they agree to replace it.

Back into the rental car I go with a verbal and written agreement to pay for my rental car expenses.

I drop off the rental car AGAIN. Pick up my truck and this time I actually got a whole 3 miles before it started screaming in 3rd and 2nd gear on the freeway. Back I go to the AAMCO on the following Monday. They try to blame the noise on everything from a bent crankshaft to my front and rear diffs. I'm not stupid...I've hand built several cars in my life but just to be safe I took my truck to 3 different shops. all of them told me there was nothing wrong with my truck other then the transmission.

After 2 weeks of arguing and more missed work, they agree to replace the transmission again. The whole time reassuring me that they would cover my expenses. That the owner of this AAMCO was personal friends with the son of the owner of the manufacturer (ETE transmissions)

Back into the rental car. ($800 at this point in rental car fees)

I drop off the rental again. Pick up my truck again. Once again I get about half way to pick up my daughter before it fails. (screaming in overdrive)

Back it goes. This time its a fight for 4 weeks. After 3 test drives they're own Mechanic is telling them it's nothing but the trans. They still want to tear into my truck to try to find something else wrong.

They have it for 2 days tearing into it. Checking front and rear diffs, engine, transfer case. They find nothing wrong and give my truck back. Again telling me they are going to replace the transmission and not to worry ETE would cover everything. So I start to drive off and find out that they forgot something THE FRONT DRIVE LINE OF MY TRUCK WAS NOT IN MY TRUCK!!

After a few choice words with the mechanic and determining in wasn't going to damage my truck...I left!

I could keep going on, but I'll just end it with this. Transmission #5 in my truck is now slipping and about to fail. That's going to make 6 when it's replaced. I still have yet to see a penny of my rental care losses. AAMCO, ETE Transmissions, and CMT Group inc are refusing to honor their agreement. Even though I have it in writing. I have asked them to extend their warranty given their failure rate. All have refused. Even though I've found out since then that ETE Transmissions come with a 100,000 mile warranty.AAMCO Transmission customer service is denying me access to my records so that I can get the 100,000 mile warranty that my ETE trans comes with. AAMCO Transmissions customer service refuses to allow me access to corporate management (email or phone #'s) or answer questions about the ETE warranty. AAMCO Transmissions customer service is now refusing to return my phone calls.
MY TRUCK IS STILL NOT FIXED
