I'm totally offended by what I just read. I hope Thom isn't a representative of Mary Jane Elliot PC. However he did say "which to us is called stealing" so I presume he does, or did, work for MJME. And it isn't surprising. Outfits like this are employed with people who enjoy confrontation and working at such places gives them the license to abuse other people - just look at what he said about this woman. I think what he said could/should be considered slander. How can you say someone is "clearly" doing something and then provide no argument to back up that claim? It's ridiculous. Even if there were evidence of his claims there is absolutely no reason to be abusive and resort to childish name calling. I think it clearly shows the abusive nature and knee-jerk thinking of the people that work for these companies.

Here's where Thom is COMPLETELY 180 degrees wrong: People like Cheri are NOT responsible for the economic crisis. What he says is pure nonsense. The real culprit is cheap money supplied by the Fed and banks who took stupid risks. When this crisis was in the making, banks like the ones MJME represent were giving away credit cards and mortgages to anyone with a pulse. Now that a lot of those people can't pay they are suffering huge losses. Well whose fault is that? THEIRS! It's the risk they take with unsecured debt, and they are suffering the consequences of taking too way much risk. Period. Thom, if you stupidly loaned money to someone and they didn't pay you back because they were not worthy of the credit in the first place, who do you blame? YOURSELF. It's basically akin to walking up to someone you don't even know and handing them a bunch of cash and saying 'ok, now pay me back please'. Ridiculous.

Not only are the people who work for these companies abusive and aggressive, but they are completely ignorant to how things work.

first of all mary jane or whoever is d**n scam. they took an old ballys account and ran with it. i would like to go to their office and burn it down.

this woman is simply confused, she must have no idea how credit cards/collections work, and cant take responsability for her actions.

the accusation that MJME is collecting money for credit card debts to 'line her own pockets' is simply an ignorent claim from a person who wanted to clearly run up a credit card to it's max, then simply throw up her hands and pay nothing for the goods and services she purchased (which to us is called stealing).

if you take out a credit card with the intention of ripping it off, and the credit card company can get nothing out of you through their means, they then pay a lawyer to collect the debt (no matter if it's 'old' or not). MJME is just such an lawyer, and without companies like her's, rip-off artists like this woman would simply take out one credit card after another, run it up, then abscond. you cant get away with it, people like you are one of the reasons for our economic crisis.

I am currently being sued by Mary Jane M. Elliott through a corrupt company called MRC Receivables Corp.

She is praying on people with low and extremely old credit reports to personally fill her pockets. She doesnt even list the address of the plaintiff.

On January 31, 2006 I received a letter stating to send the money her. Now ,two months later I am receiving a summons and complaint form from the same lawyer.
