Pentagroup Financial has sent a collection letter for $61.92 for cell phone charges from Nextel.
We originally received a collection letter from another agency and sent them copies and all the information showing we had cancelled this account and didn't owe anything on it.
Apparently they sold this account to this Pentagroup who is trying to make pennies on the dollar for something we don't even owe.
They have even posted this small amount on my credit reports which were perfect and I don't need my credit scarred by this small bill which I don't even owe.
Both collection agencies have never sent or had backup to prove I owed this to begin with.

Good News! You don't have to put up with this nonsense. Pentagroup is located in Houston Texas. Start with filing a complaint with Texas State Attorney General Greg Abott. His office is in charge of prosecuting and filing suit for violations of Texas consumer law. Second file a complaint with Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams. Pentagroup has a $ 10,000 cash bond on file with his office to cover any violations of state law pertaining to debt collection. Third file complaints with both the Federal Trade Commission and the American Collectors Association. The ACA places tremendous peer pressure on debt collectors to follow the law in an effort to head off consumer complaints that could lead to legislation and more restrictions on the industry. Last but not least file a complaint with the Texas Sate Bar Association against attorney and Pentagroup Vice President James Joseph "Jim" Thorpe. Jim's bar card number is 19989100. Jim is a May of 1986 graduate of the South Texas College of Law in Houston Texas which is affiliated with the University of Houston. Jim and his wife currently live at . File those complaints!
