What a group of cheats!  Starts off we "win" a 1 year free membership for RV camping.  This was done when we visited Camping World.

We go to the rv resort we wanted to visit thinking all we had to do was go into the office and give them the paperwork I received saying we won a free year.  Well guess what?  2hrs later we join and get a membership.  After making sure and being told what a monthly payment would be (one we could afford) we get a bill for alot more.  Instantly we make a call to resolve this and are told you need to call this person.  Ok so we do.  Guess what wrong person, call this person and so on.  After the 5th call to who we were told to call we never got a call back.  Long story, but now they send you to collections and will not do anything but try and collect $$$. 

Boy did they get us.  Gullable, yes.  Had no idea they would do this.  I am on SSD due to an injury so have very limited funds and they pull this crap.

BE CAREFUL of this company!!!!  DO NOT buy any kind of membership from them.  I wish  I would have looked them up before going to have an idea of what was going on, but never had any idea they would do a bait and switch.  Very sneeky.

Like CRA

I found that CRA Emerald Cove is a first class resort, Havasu Landing looks great too, although we have not stayed there. During our free week-end stay we attended the sales siminar And bought the package. If you like the river or Havasu no place is better with that said, Unfortunately we have health issues and now do not have any toys or capabilities to RV anymore. I quess you have the ability to transfer it to someone, CRA, if you would help me offer this to another family it would be great, I think anyone with an RV should look into being a member, it's fun, safe and secure camping.

Since you chose to complain anonymously, I cannot address this complaint in detail. I can only respond as to our general policies. Yes, we offer a one year free trial membership as part of our marketing promotions. It is legitimate and is honored at one of our parks and for the entire year. Of course, it is limited as to the usage, as we cannot offer for free what we are trying to sell.

When you are invited out to a park it is clearly explained that in exchange for the incentives we offer you are required to give us some of your time in order that we might interest you in our full membership (sales presentation).

Again, if I had the specifics of your membership I could more readily address the particular issues you raise. I can only surmise that there was confusion as to what your contract specifies entailed (payment amount, etc.)  We have over 15,000 active members, some with financing contracts and we handle their questions and issues regarding their accounts Monday thru Friday at the business office. (760) 663-4941. We try to work with all of our members who have encountered hardship in order to keep their accounts current and allow them to use and enjoy their membership as they intended when they purchased. Yes, if a member will not work with us we will eventually have to refer them to our outside collection company. We prefer not to, but sometimes there is no choice. 

Our marketing efforts are not of a bait and switch nature as you mention. You respond to a marketing offer; a reservation is made, you attend a sales presentation and receive your gifts. If you are interested enough, you purchase a full membership. If not you walk away with your gifts, having enjoyed a nice visit to our park. I do not know what is sneaky about that. If you wish you can contact the Arizona Better Business Bureau where you will see that we have an A rating. This is not a rating achieved by sneaky and bait and switch marketing programs.

Actually we did read the contract.  On our contract it has the monthly fee.  When we got the bill it was over $100 more than agreed upon and that is in writting

I joined and signed a contract, just like everybody else, on the contract list your monthly payments, there is no changing monthly payments once contract is signed.  Sound like you didn't read what you signed up for.  I had no problems with my contract with this company.  Had small issue on upgrade two years ago, called, work out issue with no problems.

my family loves emerald cove.   we had no problems at all went as a guest loved it spoke with carla in membership  got signed up and spend many many weekends enjoying our family and emerald cove.   everyone that works there is so nice and helpful .  it has been a great investment for us.  our kids and really our whole family as they come with us on many of the weekends.
