The Colorado Technical University is a scam to make profit and not to educate students. Their teachers are not very qualified and teach carelessly. I have heard from almost all the students who attended this school.
I first registered with this school in 2007. They took some of my credits from previous school then I was told I have to take certain core classes in order to graduate besides the classes for art. When I was almost done then their counselor told me that I need to take more classes thus I was required to get a private loan. This happened each time I would finish a class. Soon, I realized it was happening with many others I talked to.
If CTU feels it needs to make profits then it requires students to take unnecessary classes. They keep lying to students about classes required for graduation. Their teachers do not take pride in teaching. Most students and myself have learned on our own without the teacher's instructions. Most teachers or instructors are there to do their own work and to take a break from their real jobs.

fairuz and Higher Educational Standards at Colorado Technical Univeristy

AUTHOR: Pancho Vanilla - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, May 21, 2011

This is my first experience with "ripoffreport.com"; and it is with a certain amount of gratitude I am not someone who is making a complaint at the moment....

Any forum allowing registered members medium to aire complaints, or express their displeasure with a business, institution or organizaton is engaged in something unfair, unethical or malicious is welcomed however "Fairuz" has made statement, and I'm confused.  Fairuz states the following: "They took some of my credits from previous school then I was told I have to take certain core classes in order to graduate besides the classes for art."  (Question:  I understood everything up to and including; "...in order to graduate besides the classes for art."   What classes did you take prior to applying to CTU, and where in the vast array or courses and majors are classes in "art"?)

As a post graduate student at Colorado Technical Univeristy - earning a Masters degree in Homeland Security, I am unaware there exist classes for studies related to the field of the "arts".  The major courses of study are in criminal science, nursing, health administration, along with a number of techological arenas with focus on data management, finance, accounting  and science.

I receive "alerts" daily on items with any informaton tagged "CTU" and "Colorado Technical University" via "Google". I do so not in seeking fellow students with whom I can shake out all the "dirt" this person has stirred up.  Rather, I'm always learning about positvie activities and outcomes; the success stories, and yet until today; allegations that might require me to follow up regarding poor standards or disinterested instructors hit me, so here I am; at your service.

Earning a college degree - at any level - requires time, considerable money - but most of all - effort; the kind of effort required by employers whose investments in our becoming employees in their organization must first meet their "bottom line"; nor are there any obligations for them to meet or exceed our expectatons.

"Fair Use" a.k.a. fairuz must recognize he (or she) is lacking basic English compositon and grammar skills, and to ever succeed in a high ranking institution; be it as a student or as an employee, one must be courteous by generating work product with proper tone, structure and grammer.  Fairuz has failed those of us who read his complaint.  This is an indication of laziness - prospective employers are not interested in "dumbing down" their organizations with lazy composition.  (Those of you who are educated will agree there are several glaring errors in sentence structure....)

Regardless, this former student failed to properly identify - with some  appropriate specificity - how he (or she) came to gain or acquire "personal knowledge" regarding instructors' credentials and qualifications, information regarding their personal and/or professonal lives, to wit:  "...instructors are there to do their own work and to take a break from their real jobs."

Perhaps "Unfairlyabused" might consider - only upon improving basic grammar and sentence structure - attending courses in Homeland Security?  One of our Instructors is an active member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Counterterrorism Unit - his name is Joshua Rock.  Look him up; I didn't need to because he demonstrated a overwhelming knowledge of terrorist networks, their methodologies and tactics - he'd better darn well know - our national security is at risk if we employ second rate workers.

Recently, and better yet, I have the personal cell phone number of our professor whose "real job" is in the media and recognized as a leading expert in current technologies and a tremendous man who not only engages students inside the classroom; he has "real time - live" accounts and at any given moment; a student can simply send a text message and confidently expect a reply within minutes, but nor more than two hours.  This professional's name is Russell Mickler - the CEO of Mickler & Associates in Vancouver, Washington.

I hope to stir some interest in the "user friendly" environment at CTU and caution those who've considered fairuz's diatribe as a determining factor in their final decison to attend CTU.  My personal experience is nothing but favorable.  I am not an employee of the institution, nor has anyone asked me to respond to the complaint.  In a personal message to fairuz; I offer no apologies for responding in the manner as I have done herein.  Until you provide more details and clarify how it is you seem to be in the minority of students to complain; I suggest there is a root issue to address that makes college classwork seem so impossible; your choice words bordered on serious allegations of wilfull misconduct and as an institution based in Colorado Springs, where the United States Northern Command is located.

Colorado Technical University is available to everyone.  Their standard may be too high for some, however, if you wish to excel in an endeavor related to public service, technologies, nursing or law enforcement - please join me and those who seek to earn credits to apply later on in fields that give, more than they take...

Thank you for allowing me the privilage to responde to fairuz.
