Placed an order online on July 24. Was told at checkout the price was $45.52-total. Got a confirmation email shortly thereafter and that told me my order was received, and the total was $45.52 and that I had saved $30 plus.

Then when the order was processed and shipped they jacked the price to $57.15. When I contacted them they replied that it was necessary to purchase one at regular price to get the discounted prices on the others. Bull Crap!

The banner clearly stated 50% off no other purchase necessary. I even went into the fine print and could find no mention of having to get a full price selection first. I have been going back and forth with them for several days. The only replies I get from them are cookie cutter responses that keep repeating that I owe them $57.15. I have been very reasonable with them and offered to pay the price that I agreed upon at checkout and that they confirmed with an email to me. Obviously they don't care, or their customer service personel are all a bunch of retards who know only one reply.

I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General of Indiana, and the Attorney General of Pennsylvania since they are in Indiana and I live in Pennsylvania.

I have also contacted their parent company, DirectGroup Bertelsmann, and hopefully will get satisfaction from them. I will not hold my breath however.

Well, at about 3:50 PM EST I received a call on my cell from Amanda at Columbia House. My most recent email message to them this AM was given to her to handle. She apologized and assured me that my account has been credited to the amount that was shown at checkout and in the confirmation email they had sent me. I won't know for sure until the credit posts to my account and I attempt to pay the lesser amount. If anything changes I will definately update my story.
