Combines Insurance Company Of America Bad practices Athens Georgia

I am not going to tell the whole thing. I was lured into the evil world of combined insurance as many of you were, by lots of lies and manipulation. I have to admit - they had a pretty nice little smoke and mirrors thing going on. what you should know is that my story is from 1999. I actually got into the senior sales division selling med sups and LTC. I liked the products and found them to be pretty fair. These are standardized products. The government did this to protect our senior citizens against insurance sales agents desperate for any type of commission. I got out of sales training and made almost $3000 in commission my first week out. The commission on LTC was 38% of the annual premium - not bad. The problem was not so much the system or the products as much as the unbelievably rotten people that work in management for Combined.

Here I was with a Masters Degree from a top university being screamed at by some idiot that probably never graduated form high school and is only in the postion that he is in because he has no moral code. He tried to teach me all the tricks - all the lies. I knew about sales people forging checks, forcing signatures, manipulating old and disabled people. They are not all evil - they are just poor and desperate. Combined loves to hire competitive types that are die hard and stubborn. I actually made OK money working for combined because I was pretty good at selling. My technique was simple - tell everyone the absolute truth and only sell to people that need what you are selling. The problem eventually became finding that combination.

I am glad that I worked for Combined because it helped me to realize the complexities of financial survival and moral code. It also made me realize that I should stick to the world I care about the most - which is the field I went to school for. I also met my best friend while working for combined. He has been my best friend through thick and thin since 1999. Life is what you make of it. Would I ever work for Combined Insurance again -no. Would I tell someone they should work for Combined Insurance -no, I would tell them not to work for such a company. On the other hand - would I change anything about my past including my experience with Combined - never. I am employed in a high tax bracket, married to a Doctor and happy. Make the best of what you have experienced - no matter how bad it gets. You never know why you are going through what you are going through until your on the other end.
