Comcast Cable formerly, TCI Cable of Baltimore City has allowed service to be provided to a customer with out verifyi that the person and the information the customer provided belonged to the customer.

My husband and I were applying for a Mortage Loan and when I credit report was pulled there was a collection account belonging to his ex-wife. We contacted Comcast formerly, TCI to get this matter resolved. The per my conversation with the research representative, " Comcast formerly, TCI did not always verify the information provided by its customers". " This would be a domestic issue and you will need to go after thier customer".

My respons to them was this is a situation that your company created and this need to be removed from the or credit report. I went back and forth with no resolution. I now have to spend my time, filing a dispute with the credit bebureaus, file an identy theft complaint with the Attourney Generals office, police report with the local law enforcement, then submitt an affidavit to all of the credit bureaus, Comcast formerly, TCI, and wait for resolution through all of these actions. I have forwarded an email to the corporate office and directly to the President of Comcast.

I was not supprised to not here from any one from Comcast Corporate as of yet. I have also submitted a complaint to the BBB of Maryland, I will not hear back from them until the investigation is complete. This concerns me greatly because this tells me that any one can get service from this company with any bodies information.

unfair salesman

AUTHOR: Melaney - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 22, 2004

I own a small floral shop and a gentleman came in and sold me a lease on a credit card machine and told me that I needed this new machine because my "old one" would not work with the new type of credit cards coming out with micro chips in them. So, I bought into this and this machine after 4 years will have cost me 1,920.A gentleman from my wire sevice came in and looked over the paper work and told me I got ripped off big time and that machine only costs around $400.And the interest rate he told me was only for a card being swiped not plunched in like most of my phone orders are. They said I can't cancel the lease and that I am stuck but I feel that was unfair. The name of the leasing company is globaltech leasing. Don't deal with them!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

You won't ever hear from Comcast Corporate nor the BBB

AUTHOR: April - ()

Filing a report with the BBB was a mistake, I know from experience with them currently that they are a waste of time. They would rather take money from the company to file them under a new member and give them a SATISFACTORY rating. If you hear anything from them, you'll recieve a letter stating that they contacted the company and feel that the company has done all they could, blah, blah.

As to Comcast Corportate, I have also sent a letter to the president of Comcast. Their techs came to my home and snuck into my garage after I specifically told them not to. In turn one of the two messed with the door and locked it. My husband came home, hit the door button and it burnt the motor up. It cost us $550 to replace.I sent this letter certified because the Division of Comcast in my area refuses to do anything. First they say they'll pay for it, then they say they don't feel it's their fault. So, if they don't respond soon, I will be filing a lawsuit against them. When I spoke to their service rep at their corportate office I'm told not to pay my bill until this is resolved, yet, yesturday my cable was cut, surprise, surprise.

If you don't file suit against them, the only thing else you can do is to file a regular consumer complaint with the AG of Marylandalong with the one you already have.

Good luck!
