ComCast Cable Company in Knoxville, TN is full of uninformed incompetent help. My service was disconnected b/c they kept doubling up my monthly bill and so I honestly waited to pay it when they fixed the problem. They did with the bill, but then the cable did not work. I called and spoke to a lady about just leaving the service off. She said, "Let me flip this switch here and see if I can't fix the service for you." It did not so I told her to please keep it off b/c school was taking up t.v. time.

The next bill was for 189.32. I called and had that fixed (so I thought). After the lady was rude to me I asked to speak to her superior and she mouthed, "He'll say the same thing." I spoke to him anyway. His name was Marcel. He said it would be taken care of. Out of all the confusion I would have to pay half a month at 60.00 and turn in the cable receiver and from there he would take care of everything. Then he suggested we plug in a box that had not worked for 2 months. I did and behold it worked. So he wanted to send out a man to fix it, and i refused and told him that we wanted the service gone for good. And my husband took the phone b/c he was arguing with me. As soon as a MAN was on the phone the problem was null and void and everything would be disconnected and finished the next morning.

Well, I took the box back and told them I would pay the bill when it came in the mail. I waited 2 more months and they never sent a bill. It arrived finally supposed to be 60.00 but it was 183.95. I called and asked for Marcel and got the story that he was in a "Meeting." Four calls, and four times I asked that he call me back b/c four different calls on different days and he was conveniently in a meeting. My husband even tried.

A lady finally asked on the fourth try if she could help and I explained how Marcel said it would all be taken care of and she said well, he will have to be the one to do that, b/c all I see is that you are wrong and you never sent us a letter stating you wanted the service stopped. She would not here that Marcel was "taking care of it." I told her one last time that he should call me and explain why this mess occured. That was 5 or 6 months ago, and I have not heard from Marcel, but ComCast is now on my husband's credit report as an unpaid bill and it is not for 183.95, but for 153.69. Better, but seems like they should keep with one figure if they are going to rip someone off.

I know they are a monopoly of sorts, but if I were you, I would sign up for satelite to save yourself the torment of 4-5 different people handling your case and none of them backing up what the other said. Where I work, that is not only bad business but rude.

You'll find my situation and report right below yours. I too have been hearing the same crap over and over again from Comcast. To this day they still owe me a large amount of money for their techs destroying our property, it was supposed to be on our last bill, needless to say, were beeing billed when it should be a very negative balance. Comcast has to be the most incompetent people I have even met.

My situation is now going on 7 months. I've tried going to the main office, nothing except the run around. I finally posted a report on this site.

A woman rebuttaled to file a complaint with my local franchising authority, Comcast is supossed to inclued this information on their bill, mine did not. She also recommended complaininf to the FCC. I did, that's when about a month ago, they finally called and said they would fix everything and that the account would be clean and inclued the remainer that Comcast owes us onto our bill.

Not so, so I'm complaining to the FCC again, maybe Comcast will get the hint, I'm not playing anymore. The best thing you can do at this time is to complain to the FCC. You can fill out a complaint form via their website.

You probally won't here for Comcast for about 2 weeks, but you will here from them. Also, when they call, tell them your recording this conversation. Good luck to you.
