Yes.........comcast is a helluva company. Just this week they've decided that basic cable customers have no need for the channel guide station so they simply cut it off.

After calling and inquiring as to why doesn't the channel guide station show, i find out that there was nothing wrong with my television, it was done purposely by the mysterious "others" who control programming. I was told that comcast has nothing to do with it and has no control over programming.

Apparently, comcast has no control over lowering the price for programming that I no longer receive either. "isn't that special?"

So, in addition to pityful repeated programming, I now have to constantly channel surf in order to find which repeats i can stomach? Comcast you are some kind've special!!! Comcast is a prime example of sticking it to the consumer.

My question is, if comcast has no control over programming or pricing Nor will they demand good programming from the mysterious "others" who does control programming,......... then what good is comcast? Answer: they suck!

Comcast users are being screwed big time with this company. I can't wait for some entity to lower the boom on this one. The next time I see one of those comcast commercials that are supposed to make me feel all warm and fuzzy about comcast I'll be the one regurgitating all over the tv.

You know I don't know why people come to this site, specifically look stuff up and then post drivil like this. It's called CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM not, bash whomever write something bad.

With that said, I have Comcast cable, Im not located in Indianapolis Indiana, now they havent moved court TV to channel 200 and something, where I have to get the box and a hike in my bill to get it, but they have removed the TV guide channel.

No we may not NEED cable, but with your paying 50 plus dollars for a service that since the Tvguide has been around, there has been a TvGuide channel for you to look at, I can see how one could get mad that they no longer get the channel unless they upgrade to Digital. I do think this is a blatant rip off seeing as that channel ( or something akin to it) is included with everyone elses MINIMUM service. This is just another tactic to make everyone have to go get that digital box ( albet how crappy the on demand actually is)

TV Guide

AUTHOR: Scott - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 14, 2008

The website for TV Guide is a great resource for those who watch television. I used to watch a lot of television, but 1.5 years ago I turned off the television and haven't watched since. Not only do I have one less bill per month, but also have much more time for other things.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

You have a choice.

AUTHOR: Liz - (U.S.A.)

Well, you DO have three options...

1. Realize that cable is NOT a necessity; you won't die if you don't have it, you won't lose your job, get sick or even get a gray hair. You might do better without cable altogether.

2. Upgrade your cable package if you simply need cable television that badly.

or...

3. Go with a different cable company. I'm sure you'll find that the same channels they offer play the same exact thing you'd had with Comcast.

Believe it or not, cable providers don't have as much power over the network affiliates as we'd like to think. Although, I find it funny you claim the TV guide channel is gone. I have Comcast cable, same as you and my TV guide channel is still there. In fact, just a few minutes ago, I wandered over it.

You can also get the television schedules out of the Sunday newspaper.

Not trying to be rude... just some food for thought.
